Autumn has arrived, and it's getting a wee bit cool around here. I'm not quite prepared to turn on the furnace yet. I try my best to wait until the end of October to do that.
To keep our Smalls all toasty, I warm up a heating pad and place it on their favorite napping spot. It's big enough for all to keep at least one cheek planted on it. When they're not bouncing about, this pad is the center of the universe.
Oh, Laurie, I beg to differ. Look at the expressions on those sweet little faces. YOU are the center of their universe!!! Heating pad may be second.
ReplyDeleteLaurie, have you seen these? My kitties love them during the chilly summer months in San Francisco. http://www.amazon.com/Pet-Warmer-Watts-Large-Inches/dp/B001AZLVG6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1348681891&sr=8-5&keywords=cat+heating+pad
ReplyDeleteYou can shove them into whatever cushion you already have.I would love to donate one to the dear old Smalls!
That looks like a nice one. This is what we use.

It works great and stays warm for at least 8 hours, and you just heat it up in the microwave. No cords involved.
I worry about them chewing on the cords (kittens like to nibble) so for the wee one, I think this is a good solution.
How kind of you to offer to donate one to our Smalls. I think we will pass, but sure appreciate your kindness.
xo
Thanks for sharing this...my 15 year old ginger tabby might appreciate one of these this winter!
DeleteThey are sure a happy smiley little bunch! I hope they are adopted out in pairs, since they enjoy each other's company so much.
ReplyDeleteLiam seems to look out for Louie, which is the sweetest thing ever.
ReplyDeletePLEASE let me have Louie! I know it's across a lot of state lines but he's breaking my heart!
ReplyDeleteThe Smalls are just sweetness personified! I ache looking at those sweeeet little faces. The one in the back is really feeling the full effect of that heating pad. soooo cute.
ReplyDeleteMy cats used to sleep on the floor registers. That would have been OK, except they were huge cats and completely plugged them up!
ReplyDeleteI had this same problem with a 25-pound cat sealing off our registers. "Why is it so cold in here?" "The cat's soaking up all the heat"
DeleteGosh, I wish I lived in OR instead of CA, I would so love to adopt a Small. Hopefully Charlene Butterbean is teaching them appropriate napping behavior.
ReplyDeleteLittle kittens on their cozy warming chair. Very sweet faces.
ReplyDeleteThey seem to love cuddling up together.
ReplyDeleteMy heart belongs to Shrimp Louie. That is one of the sweetest faces I've seen on a kitten.
ReplyDeleteLouie and Liam would make a cute pair -- the largest Small with the smallest Small. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope the kitties, however they pair up, go to their new homes in twos. They seem super close.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet little bunch!
ReplyDeleteOur hot water pipes run under the floor of each room, to the radiators. The cats are very clever at knowing where they are and they sleep over them. And one day, so did my hen Inara! I came into the living room to see her happily sitting on the floor next to one of the cats. And both them were sitting over the pipes are!
ReplyDeleteThe collection of pointy ears is too much!
ReplyDeleteI love the way they're being all winky, blinky sleepy/flirty too!
ReplyDeleteHehehe - I love how they are all in that one corner of the bed. It makes sense now that Laurie posted the link to the heating pad - I thought it covered that whole surface at first but the kitties preferred to be closer to each other. I also was imagining their little faces pressed up on the heating pad instead of those other "cheeks."
ReplyDeleteOh gosh I just want to kiss each and every little nose! Then cuddle them to keep them warm!
ReplyDeleteIf I lived closer to you I would have adopted all of them and have the room for them. I love Siamese and these ones are all just the puuuuurfect specccccccccimenssssssssss...
ReplyDeletePlease, please please be sure to send Shrimp Louis off with one of his siblings when the time comes. He is too too precious to go off alone!
ReplyDeleteLouie's face of pure glee reminds me very much of my own Lou. He loved it when I would get out the rice sock when he was a wee one. Now he's a whole year old, but still very small, and prefers my lap or hair over the sock..,which is fine with me. :)
ReplyDeleteI love how Shrimp Louie loves to snuggle up to Liam. You can almost hear him say "My big brother is the bestest in the world."
ReplyDeleteHope Louis and Liam end up together. They're a great example of Siamese mixes, as well as being cute cute cute!
ReplyDeleteThe third photo, of Shrimp Louie and Large Liam is just plain heart-melting. Love Liam's expression, like he;s saying, "Why, yes, I AM the world's very best big brother!" And sweet Louie is just blissed.
