Sorry Bean, you're too big to come in - I don't think your floof will fit through the door. Don't worry, I've got another box. I'll make one for you too, and you two can be neighbors.
Ha - that's a priceless shot. Bean really has the look of "Mom, I don't have a box!" and Wylla really has the look of "Please don't let that giant fur ball in my box!".
I'm so glad you posted this! I've been trying to figure out an easy way to feed my little guy his special diet without my other two behemoths snarfing all of his food. Problem solved!
First the cute "dining room" for Wylla and now this house! Laurie, you are just so artistic and imaginative! I enjoy seeing your creativity as much as seeing the kitties!
We came up with a method for keeping big cats out of smaller cats' food. Years ago when we noticed the big cat eating the little one's food, we cut a door in a translucent storage bin. We take the lid off to put the food in. Our small cat still eats in there--she grazes throughout the day, while the big cat eats all of his food at once. Not as cute as a little house, but sturdy, easy to clean, etc.
Wylla's expression looks like she's saying, "I don't have to let Bean try to squeeze in here with me, do I?" Silly kitten, of course not! That's what happens when you're so wee -- you end up with special, fabulously artistically decorated cardboard houses all your very own. :)
That is totally adorable! I love the expression on both their faces! This is so clever. I need to make some for my cats. I can't wait to see Charlene's house.
That is SO CUTE and I'd be willing to bet that a lot of people with new kittens would adore having such a sweet playhouse- or even a bigger one for their cat! I would. It's better than a plain box and would be so much better looking! Think about having someone make those!
I LOVE the expressions of both Wylla and Charlene, they're so adorable! And the house: priceless, never seen such a cat estate, wow! (We follow you regularly from here :-), even if we don't comment every time; love your blog so much!) M. (Switzerland)
Oh wow....too too cute!! Beware of cat - haha - beware of cat floof maybe.
ReplyDeleteHa - that's a priceless shot. Bean really has the look of "Mom, I don't have a box!" and Wylla really has the look of "Please don't let that giant fur ball in my box!".
ReplyDeleteI made a small-door cat house so my kitten could eat kitten chow while my older cat stayed on his special diet. Your is MUCH cuter!

ReplyDeleteI feel compelled to go home and make a cardboard cat house for my kitties now! It looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd Bean's pout is priceless!

ReplyDeletethat is so fricken cute!!! I would totally buy that for my cats!!!
ReplyDeleteI think we are all going to be making cat house boxes this weekend!! This is one for your book!
ReplyDeleteYes! I sense an upcoming 'real estate boom' across IBKC Nation as we all make cathouses from cardboard boxes!
DeleteLOL!! :)

ReplyDeleteHow cute! A decorated box is much more pleasing to the eye and more likely to be kept around for the spoiled cats :)
ReplyDeleteWhy do I have the feeling Bean is going to try to squeeze in anyway? I may have to make one of these too.
ReplyDeleteI'm picturing Charlene with her "floofy" haunches stuck in the doorway!
DeleteCan she take her house with her when she goes to her forever home? I hope she will still be small enough to fit!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the very same thing! That would give Wylla something familiar in her new digs...when that happens.
DeleteHadn't really thought about it, Perhaps. We'll see if it's still standing.
DeleteLOL!!! How cute is this?! Bean looks like she is saying "But Mommmm....where's my kitty house?". I can't get enough of these two girls :)
ReplyDeleteWay too cute and lovely, Bean and Wylla are two beauties. Thank you for the photo its made my day
ReplyDeleteAw, what an awesome little playhouse!!
ReplyDeleteIf I tried to make one of those for my cat she would just sit on top of it.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! how cute! Two ladies, gossiping on the door step!
ReplyDeleteReal Housewives of the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee?
ReplyDeleteHow adorable is that cutie patootie peeking out of that doorway.... and I love that you'll make charlene a house so they can be neighbors.

ReplyDeleteI'm screaming with glee! How beautiful!
