Well, it's that time again!! The annual IBKC FUNdraiser kicks off on Monday! For those of you new to the blog, it's truly is the funnest fundraiser in the world. It will warm your heart, and you'll cry happy tears as the support grows and our total rises.
My friend Julie calls it "the most wonderful time of the year".
I'm putting the finishing touches on the telethon set, and Wylla is practicing on the phones. We will be up and running bright and early Monday morning.
What do you think, Wylla? Do you feel ready?
she looks a bit "deer in the headlights"
ReplyDeleteTotally!
DeleteToo funny! Oh Wylla, you're just a goofy fluffy girl, aren't you?
ReplyDeleteOh, Mommy Laurie, clearly Wylla's middle name is "ready". Evangeline and Lilliane have been putting aside part of their allowances all year - and I'll add something to their penny. Our middle names are "ready" too.

ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of phone calls for one little kitten to answer. You better get a new litter soon to help wee Wylla!
ReplyDeleteWylla looks a little bit alarmed at having to hold down the phones all by herself. Maybe she needs some new foster kittens to help her? :) (But seriously, how could we resist that face, I ask you???)
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Tacoma.
ReplyDeleteHave been visiting your blog for years now.
I usually donate to my local animal rescues but this year due to my love of Wylla and Bean (of course), I will be donating.
XO,
JC and The Purr and Fur Gang
Wylla's a big girl now! Of course she's ready! I remember how intimidated Kisses was ... poor Kisses!
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding us of Kisses, who is one of THE VERY cutest kitties ever born. I just looked at the posts about her again and "liked" her mommy's Facebook page. :)
DeleteEr, her foster mommy's facebook page, that is.
DeleteYay, it IS the most wonderful time of the year! Wylla may need a little moral support from the Bean at first, but I'm sure she'll get the hang of it quickly.
ReplyDeleteOur cats have been watching their pennies as well, so we'll be ready to give when Wylla's ready for us.
Yay! Wylla will rock the FUNdraiser!
ReplyDeleteExpecting great things to happen at this year's fundraiser -- especially with Wylla manning the phones. Can't wait for Monday (did I really say that !!)to get things rollin' along. Count me in for a fun time.
ReplyDeleteThat phone looks perfect sized for her :)
ReplyDeleteWylla, tell mama you're "Ready, Freddy!"
ReplyDeleteWill Bean and Wylla be taking turns on the phones this year? Usually there's a whole litter to divide up the work. No wonder Wylla looks worried!
ReplyDeleteThis year I will think of the kindness of Laurie, Craig, and Bean towards Miss Wylla Stout with every donation I make!
ReplyDeleteAll of your questions will be answered on Monday - stay tuned.
ReplyDeleteOh my, not sure how Bean and Wylla will handle the phones by themselves. I hope reinforcements will be coming....
ReplyDeletePS: Glad to see Wylla cleaning the phone handset. Nothing worse than someone else's germs all over the phone!
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anyone who would mind Wylla's 'germs' on the phone.
DeleteIn fact....
I think W is either gulping that Monday is just 2 days away... or else saying, "bring it on"!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping that the two beautiful co-stars round up lots of guest "speakers" this year to help keep us guessing who could show up next!
This is like waiting for the first episode of a favorite TV show to return for the new season! A little drama, some comedy, tears and laughter all rolled into way too few and brief episodes.
ReplyDeleteWylla says, "I was born ready, Mom!"
ReplyDeletePatti in KY
Wylla is all like, "Hey Bean, how much is a squillion again?"
ReplyDeletebetter get in some good snoozin over the weekend Wylla.....you are going to be busy next week :)
ReplyDeleteGo, Wylla!
ReplyDeleteWee Wylla looks a little nervous but ready to jump in and help out! She and Bean will be a great team this year! Laurie, please send Happy Father's Day wishes to the Kitten Whisperer....
ReplyDeleteWylla looks unsure, but I have no doubt she can handle it. She's licking that phone like a boss!
ReplyDeleteWith all that the IBKC has been through this year, I hope that the "staff," both feline and human, will have as much FUN as we all will :)
ReplyDeleteI wanna call and talk to Wylla! :)
ReplyDeleteOHHHH, THAT FAAAAAACE!!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the dinky wee phone!!! and Wylla too
ReplyDeleteI ment to say, please let me know how to support the fundraiser, can I donate to you from Ireland??
ReplyDeleteYes, you'll be able to donate from anywhere 'round the world! Thanks!!
DeleteWylla, you will do awesome! It IS a big responsibility but I am sure your family will ensure you have all the support you could want!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteWith Bean massaging Wylla's shoulders like a coach (read full head to toe cleaning)Wylla will rock this fundraiser like none before her :)
I think of rhythmic gymnastics when coaches massage the ears of the gymnasts. I'm sure Bean takes cares of Wylla's ears too!
DeleteAs a recent follower, I can't wait to join in on the fun!! Good luck, wee Wylla! You can do it !! :D
ReplyDeleteI predict there is a litter of kittens that's been kept under wraps. Don't forget, we haven't heard or seen anything about the new fostering quarters in the basement!
ReplyDeleteThink about it, people. There hasn't been one peep about fostering or the basement since the post explaining what all went down.
While that completely makes sense in the face of adopting a kitten with special needs, no one is fooling me! This is Laurie we're talking about. Everything's about to come full circle.
Although, admittedly, I have no idea how you'll pull it all off, Laurie -- and certainly I couldn't -- that's my prediction.
Awww! Click on the "telethon set" link, and there is perhaps the first appearance of Wylla's dinette set. (I hope whoever made that lovely furniture, long ago, somehow knows how important it's been and what a good home it has.)
ReplyDeleteUh-oh, stage fright! Don't worry, Wylla. All the great ones suffer from it. They say it's what gives them their edge. :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I love the FUNdraiser! It will be a lot for little Wylla to do on her own. Hopefully, the Bean will be able to help.
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo! Can't Wait! Meowy Hugs, Robin, Oliver & Minnie
ReplyDeleteHaha! She looks entirely like "Sure am ready! We'll discuss my pay when things are finished..."
ReplyDeleteIf there aren't new kittens to share phone duties, perhaps some alums would return to lend a helping paw... they know the proceedure...
ReplyDeleteCicero & Phidian are ready too! Purrs for Wylla & Bean.
ReplyDeleteWoot! It is time for the FundRaiser!
ReplyDeleteAnd in the mean time, here's this BBC program on a week's worth of data collected on 50 cats in a town in England. You'll need an hour to watch. http://youtu.be/ky9MPO2caIk
I have started watching this :). Thanks for the link.
DeleteI look forward to the senior's day of the fundraiser. I love the little kittens, but it's really exciting to be able to donate and know that I will be helping little old lady cats.
ReplyDeleteI've been saving my money all year for Senior Day!!! So excited that it's time again!!!! <3
