I thought it might be fun to do a little Wylla retrospective in honor of this day. The photos are in chronological order, so you can watch this goofy girl grow before your very eyes!
Happy Half-Birthday, dear girl. We look forward to celebrating many more half and whole birthdays to come!
Thank goodness you were born, wee Wylla. Each day with you is a gift.

It's a special day for someone else, too. It's our friend Mary's birthday, and she's giving us a gift - a matching donation challenge. Mary is offering up a generous $500 for you to match, and because it's a quiet day 'round here with this holiday, we've getting a little extra time to meet it. The challenge will end at Midnight tonight (Pacific Time).
To have your donation met, dollar-for-dollar, please visit our FUNdraising page! Maybe make a $6 for Wylla's six months, or $17.76 in honor of the the holiday today, or any amount that is comfortable for you. Whatever you can give - ever bit helps.
Thank you for this awesome match, Mary! We hope you have a fabulous birthday!
We're getting REALLY close to $50 squillion, and if we meet Mary's match and give a wee bit more, we will roll past the half way mark today! OH, I hope it happens!!
Please stay tuned, it's Alumni Week and we'll see a couple more kittens a little bit later.
And be safe!! Get those kitties inside before it starts getting noisy outside!
xo
Have a great 4th!
OH Wylla, we are all sooo happy you were born! <3
ReplyDeleteHappy half birthday Wonderful Woolie Wee Wylla! You have been a joy to watch grow and I am thrilled we get to keep following your sweet story!
ReplyDeleteThere can never be enough Wylla on her tippy toes pictures.
ReplyDeleteHappy 1/2 Birthday Wylla!
You have grown from such a precious teensy ball of floof into such a lanky, teenage ball of floof, Wylla -- how could anyone not adore you? Happy Half Birthday, beautiful kitten!
ReplyDeleteHappy Half-Birthday, Wee Wooly Wylla! <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteHappy Half Birthday Wylla! I think Wylla's new nickname should be Wylla "String Bean" Stout. She's such a little lady with her still tiny, but also long and lean frame. Of course there is another IBKC celebrating her half b-day today - will we see an update on Miss Audrey this week? I can't even imagine how different these two sisters might look next to each other. Each precious in their own right.
ReplyDeleteI still crack up every time I see the pic of Wylla up on her hind legs and a funny expression on her adorable little face. It's a little like she's playing 'Zombie Kitten need treats... treeeeats...'
ReplyDeleteTotally cracking up at 'Zombie Kitten need treats...' *G*
DeleteOh Wylla, I just love you. You look so much like my darling Mini ... and she is a dear beauty too, although now in her elder years. :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, we'll be donating $6 today because of you. xoxo
Happy Half Birthday, Wylla! Its so wonderful to see how you've gone from a cute little ball of floof to the wide-eyed beauty you are today!
ReplyDeleteHer leaning out of the basket...she has the BEST "'Sup?" look! :D
ReplyDeleteAn enjoyable retrospective. She is so serious in most of the pictures, and then there she is standing up with her tongue sticking out, what a crazy kitty! Wish I could hug her!! Good luck on the donations!!!!
ReplyDeleteI wanted so bad to give a big (for me, a senior citizen living off of VA benefits) donation on July 1st. But of course, the night before, my 2 cats had a spectacular game of chase each other through the house, bouncing off of furniture, etc. When I awoke on my birthday I saw that Winky was limping badly, holding up his right paw. I tried to look at it, or feel to see if I could find something wrong, but he wouldn't even let me touch it. So, of course I took him to the vet, which required me to buy a new, large size kitty carrier. After that purchase, xrays, etc. I spent $240 to find out he had the equivalent of a sprained ankle. It was worth it, just to know he was all right, but no big donation for you.
ReplyDeleteBut today I cannot ignore beautiful Wylla's half birthday so my babies will be donating money I would have spent on a birthday dinner or something. A much more worthy use of my limited money. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for your generous donation, Donna.
DeleteI'm glad to know that Winky is fine.
Thank you Laurie, for all you do for itty bitty kitties.
DeleteStrike up the band, "I'm an itty-bitty dandy." Happy 6th month, kit-kat. It's a wonderful world indeed that has a wee Wylla in it.
ReplyDeleteThat got me into the holiday spirit. Delightful.
DeleteHappy Half Birthday, you adorable fluffy bright-eyed sweetheart! You're such a dear girl to keep your high spirits when you have to work so hard just to get your food down. Bless your adorable self. We love you.
ReplyDeleteMay I ask a question or two? Is January 4th a guess-timate, or do you know that's actually the day? What were the circumstances of Wylla, Audrey, and dear Filbert coming to the Humane Society? What if anything is known about them before you brought them home? Is anything known about their mommy cat?
Okay, that's four questions. Happy Fourth! May every kitty have a good hiding spot for the fireworks.
We know when they arrived at the shelter, and knew their estimated age at that time and did the math.
DeleteWe don't know anything of their history prior to them arriving at the shelter.
I remember the first picture of her, and seeing her now, she's grown into her floof (sort of).
ReplyDeleteHappy halfiversary, Wylla!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much she's changed since we were introduced to her — though she's still the cutest little ball of fluff!
Happy 6 month birthday, Wylla, and Happy Birthday Mary! You make a great team!
ReplyDeleteWylla does give real meaning to Itty Bitty Kitty! XO
ReplyDeleteHappy half birthday sweetest Wylla :) May you have many many more half and full birthdays!
ReplyDeleteoh these pics make me so happy! Happy 6 month purrday Wylla! You are sooo cute, and I too love the "zombie" Wylla :)
ReplyDeleteand Donna, you are fabulous! Glad to hear your Winky will be ok. A very Happy belated birthday to you!
Linda
Wow, thank you. It took almost 24 hours for Winky to forgive me for the whole riding in the car, visiting the vet, and most of all, giving him some medicine the first night. I didn't care, I just wanted our 16 pound baby to be all right. I am happy to report that he loves me again, so all is right in our world.
DeleteWhat a fun bunch of pics. Wylla is fabulous through and through!
ReplyDeleteHappy 6-month old day, Wylla!!!
ReplyDeleteEvery single photo, she seems to be smiling widely. How adorable is that!
