I love the expression of delight that appears on the faces of those who notice Wylla while we are out and about.
"Is that a cat?" they say from afar.
Followed by a "may I pet her?" as they get closer.
Followed by a "may I pet her?" as they get closer.
Wylla always obliges and accepts their affection, and in these moments her new friend usually shares a story about their kitty or a favorite kitty they once knew. They leave with a smile, and I'm guessing, pleasant thoughts in their head.
I commented once that I see a very old soul in Wylla. Cynthia responded that she sees it too, but not a soul that has returned because it needs learn more, but one that has returned to teach lessons.
I have to agree. It seems she's here for a reason.
I agree! She's definitely here to teach us all something. Maybe that cats *CAN* walk on a leash!
ReplyDeleteyep....that wide eyed wonder is here for a wonderful reason :)
ReplyDeleteoh - I wanted to mention - there was an article in the last magazine I get from Best Friends with a cat with megaesphogus (I know I spelled that wrong). Anyhow, to raise her dish, they flipped a terra cotta flower put upside down and put her dish on that. Thought it was cute.
Aw, such a cute baby!

ReplyDeleteI totally agree, Wylla is so precious!
ReplyDeleteI so agree...she is an old soul....
ReplyDeleteSweet and beautiful face!
ReplyDeleteShe is here to amuse Bean; make people marvel at her stylish sweater and leash; remind us of kittens past and present; distract us from your need to take a break from fostering (it is very hard work) and to make us smile at her owlish floofyness. So thank you for sharing her with us.
ReplyDeleteYep! Word for word!❤️
DeleteAlso, to love and be loved.
ReplyDeleteI have had the very same impression about Wylla! She IS an old soul.
ReplyDeleteWee Wylla is such a special addition to your family! :)
ReplyDeleteHave you ever considered certifying her as a comfort or therapy animal? Cats are so rare in the trade (usually dogs) and I know how much it can mean to a patient to have a visit from a comfort animals.
ReplyDeleteWe've been talking with the "Pets with Purpose" who take HS kittens to visit nursing homes. Wylla may be making some visits during the kitten off-season.
DeleteBless your generous, loving hearts!!
DeleteI agree Wylla is certainly here for a reason or many reasons, for me, she makes me smile every time
ReplyDeletetotally agree. the depth of her spirit is evident by those of us who have not even been in the same room with her. very, very special kitty with a special purpose to share with all of us. <3
ReplyDeleteWylla is a special kitty, indeed. She always makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteWylla always makes me wish I could meet her out and about too - I always want to pet her too when I see her and Charlebe too!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree witht the old soul theory!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, Wylla's teaching all of us. We are lucky that we get to visit with her almost every day. Lucky you for rescuing her. Mary A
ReplyDeleteHere's looking at you, kid.
ReplyDeletebetween the bean and ms. stout, you've cornered the market on ambassadors for kitty adoption.
ReplyDeleteI love this posting. A lovely photograph of dear Wylla with what I've come to think of as her normal expression of openness, and a great headline that warms my heart.
ReplyDeleteShe certainly is a special little nugget. :)
