If I can't see you, you can't see me, right?
Poor Bean. It was time for her annual vet visit and vaccines, and she wasn't terribly happy about that. Usually she just sits on my lap while we wait, but yesterday she decided to do a little disappearing act.
Silly girl, we can see you.
Oh, poor punkin. Going to the vet can be quite the stressful experience.
ReplyDeleteIt totally pulls at my heartstrings when they're being vulnerable like that.
ReplyDeleteyou almost expect her to put her paws over her ears and sing "lalalalala"
ReplyDeleteOn the flipside, her coat looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThe late Simba used to "hide" by shoving his head in my armpit. My current boy, Percy, will sit quietly on the vet's table and purr as long as I keep him covered with a towel that we bring from home.
ReplyDeleteTo bad Nat doesn't have a sink in the rooms. Those are the best place to hide.
ReplyDeleteMy boy Perry "hides" behind the flat screen monitor at the vets.
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well with her. I wonder if she lost any weight since gaining a sister. It may just be the timing, but I'm glad she's getting her annual before any kittens come. Just to be safe and all.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I had to bring Josie to the vet after her bite. She was very calm and loved the attention (until they had to clean the wound, she had a set of pipes on her).
My big guy usually poops on the vet. My little one thinks he can hide in the sink.
ReplyDeleteAwww! Poor Bean!!!
ReplyDeleteNobody puts Beanie in the corner (except Beanie). :-)
ReplyDeleteMy girl kitty was fostered at a vet, so she doesn't mind her visits at all (well, except for the shots, of course), but the car trip there can be quite an experience!
ReplyDeleteAwww... poor Bean! No one likes the vet at my house either!
ReplyDeleteWhat a poor, suffering, abused kitty!
ReplyDeleteBeans not hiding - she's checking out the work of the shelf installer. You do know that a poorly installed shelf could result in disaster.
ReplyDeleteLast time Wylla was there to protect her. Maybe you should always take both of them?
ReplyDeleteAt least she did not a)poop on herself b)puke on herself c)howl the entire car ride over or d)bite the vet. Her name was Sylvia Plath and she did all of that every time she went to the vet.
ReplyDeleteBuddy and Tiger do the same thing on the way to the vet - on an empty stomach. Once at the vet and cleaned up, they're pretty friendly except for shot and temperature time!
DeleteBuddy and Tiger's Mom
My mom's cat always provided a - umm - sample to the vet every time he went to the vet. He also got very scared and make a ruckus when he had to stay at the vet. My mom was horrified when she saw his chart was marked in big red letters - MEAN! That was the last time Tinker stayed at the vet without my mom there with him.
Deletelol.... Sylvia Plath...
DeletePoor Bean is right! It's OK Charlene. It will only hurt a little bit. Be brave!
ReplyDeleteMy "shy" cat usually hides under the counter that sticks out and then proceeds to noisily clean her privates. That's usually about when the vet comes in. So embaressing!
ReplyDeleteMy not so shy cat explores the whole room and then tries to find the treats he knows are hidden somewhere in there...
My late great Cleopatra Marie manage to get under the huge cast iron scale my vet used to weigh large dogs... we still don't know how! The vet measured her head and measured the gap to find the gap was 1/4" narrower than her head! It took three vet techs and one vet to lift that monstrosity so I could grab her before she found another hidey hole!!
ReplyDeleteBean's a lot better behaved than my kitties are at the vet!! I'm not a huge fan of doctor's visits myself so I totally get it, Miss Charlene!
ReplyDeleteShe needed her sister Wylla to protect her. That one is still one of my favorite pictures on the blog..
ReplyDeleteShe's in good company though. My girls do that as well, either by staying in their cat carrier, hiding under the chair in the room, or stuffing their head in the crook of my arm.
We're so mean to our 'kids'.. :)
My Bertie does the same thing! Our vet's counter is even set up the same way and he tucks in behind the cotton balls. Our wonderful vet even pretends to have a hard time finding him.
ReplyDeleteMy Loki either buries his head in the crook of my elbow or stuffs half his body behind me on the chair. Cats definitely don't understand "hiding" very well sometimes. :-)
ReplyDeleteAt her first vet visit, Lyra climbed up on to the top shelf, and curled up with her back to the vet.
ReplyDeletePenny hides in the sink.
At my vet, the faucet of the sink has a motion sensor. Imagine my cat's surprise when she hopped in and got rained on!
DeleteThey should file these photos in the dictionary under the entry for Denial.
ReplyDeleteHaha! :D
DeleteOhh poor bunny :( I love that 1st picture though- if I smush myself into the wall, I shall be gone!
ReplyDeleteI took my brother's new kitten, Orion, to the vet yesterday (he got sick one day after my brother got him at the shelter). Poor Orion was so scared, and so strong, that it took 3 of the Vet's people to take the temperature of a 4 pound fluffy kitty. I could not comfort him because he has only seen me 3 times, and 2 of those times I took him to the vet. He is much better now, and that is what counts. I hope he will learn to love his Auntie and forgive me the trips to the vet.
