Hey, Bean. I thought we weren't supposed to jump up on the table.
OH, Wylla. Mom's upstairs working, no need to worry, she won't even know. Trust me.
OH NO! HERE SHE COMES! Be calm, Wylla. Don't move. Maybe she won't notice. We'll just blend right in with the flowers.
I think she noticed, Bean.
And I think we're in trouble.
Naughty kitties! <3
ReplyDeleteUh oh!!! Mom always catches naughty little girls :) How can you stay mad at two such sweet faces?
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! What an expression on Wylla's face!
ReplyDeletewith pretty faces like that, no one gets into trouble.
ReplyDeleteThe third picture says it all. Cats ARE telepathic; I can clearly hear what they're thinking and can only say "LADIES! we don't talk like that!"
ReplyDeletePrettiest bouquet of posies I've seen
ReplyDeleteDoing it all wrong, kids. The way to manage this is to sit up taller and throw a look that says, *Hi, Mistress! Thanks for the cool table!* or, alternately, effect a slight confusion and signal, *What? Haven't you ever seen a cat on a table before?*...LOL...Hubby and I surrendered long ago on this, although "The table is in use" (mealtimes) is still enforced. They clearly are able to discern the difference, and usually mind their manners. Usually, LOL. Love cats so much!
ReplyDeleteI completely lost this "battle" with my Buddy and Tiger. So, I took off the tablecloths - they only go on when we have company. Tiger even "joins" me for dinner when I'm having something he can eat. I think I'm turning into a crazy cat lady!
DeleteLaurie, I love these photos. As usual, beautiful. Thanks again for all the effort you put into this blog.
Buddy and Tiger's Mom
Gorgeous roses! Look similar to once my BF brought me last week.
ReplyDeleteThe only place I feel safe to put flowers now is on our fireplace mantle - which is set higher than most. Casper is too old and slow to get up there. Cocoa, tried once and failed; knocking off several items in the process. I think it spooked her severely - she hasn't tried since (that we know of!)
What an adorable pair! The orange of the roses works great with the coloring on both girls.
ReplyDeletebut you both look so innocent :)
ReplyDeleteI get this same look and attitude from my two when I catch them on the counter. Too cute to stay mad at them!
ReplyDeleteLove the "deer in the headlights" look from Wylla. Love Bean's "pshaw to you" look. And the roses are lovely.
ReplyDeleteBUSTED!
ReplyDeleteBut they're so _scenic_. . .
ReplyDeleteOK, this post and the pictures have me laughing out loud on a day when I really need it! Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteHow can they be in trouble for stopping to smell the roses?
ReplyDeleteIf she didn't want pretties on the table she shouldn't have put flowers up there to begin with.
ReplyDeleteWylla: Hey, Mom, just wanted to show you how fabulous we both look next to these gorgeous roses. Especially me. So don't be mad. Because you know how much better this place looks now? So much better. You're welcome.
ReplyDeleteThat third picture made me laugh out loud. Those faces!! So, so funny.
ReplyDeleteScarlett still gets that look when I catch her somewhere she shouldn't be (table, counters). Melly, on the other hand, can often be found sprawled in the middle of the kitchen table, looking completely, blissfully unconcerned. She is incorrigible.
They knew how much you wanted a picture of them with the roses, so they posed themselves! I mean, look at that composition!
ReplyDeleteHahahhaha - sprung!
ReplyDeleteLove you pair of naughty kittehs. Also impressed with the 'table is in use' rule. That I may have some hope of enforcing...

There's a new video online from a pet owner who was convinced his dog was getting on the bed, against the rules, whilst he was out of the house. Turns out not only was he correct, the dog was having a grand old party! The funniest part is that the cat is sitting there, watching the entire time. :-) No link, but I think if you search for "dog on bed while owner away" you'll find it.
ReplyDeleteAt least they're not munching on the flowers...in this picture... My sister's cat cannot be trusted with flowers of any kind (even the cat safe ones) because she'll binge eat them and then coughs them back up like a hairball later. She also decimated a beautiful (cat safe) fern to the point it had to be put on a shelf about 8 feet off the ground to survive...
ReplyDeleteHow could anybody blame such lovely kitties for having some table time? And what pretty pictures.
