Remember what a cute little bug she was?
Here's what Kami had to say!
Hi Laurie,
First, CONGRATULATIONS on your book! It looks adorable and I am planning to buy a couple of copies. It is so cool that my kitty is in a blog and a book!
Second, I've been meaning to email you an update about Opal! She is doing great, I can't believe we've had her for 2 and half years already. Opal has a feisty personality and makes her thoughts known easily. She is curious about everything and loves people better than her big kitty sister, Zoe. They tolerate each other at best... She is a perfect companion for us people though! She has seasonal allergies, her eyes get very puffy and red in May when the Scotch Broom starts to bloom. A yearly allergy shot seems to do the trick.
Opal became a fur-sister in August when we welcomed human baby Henry into our family. She is very good with Henry and loves to be around him. So far, she seems to understand that she needs to be careful with him. The other day I had to extract her from his crib because she wanted to join him for a nap. He is starting to become very curious about the cats.
Thanks for matching us up with such a great kitty. We love Opal and she has made our lives much more interesting. :-) I think one of Henry's first words will be OPAL because I'm constantly saying her name (Opal, leave the TV alone, Opal, leave Zoe alone, and so on).
-Kami
PS I included a picture of Zoe too, she is also a kitty from the Tacoma Humane Society. We adopted her about a year and a half before Opal.
Thanks so much for sending the update, Kami! Opal grew up to be such a lovely lady. Her human brother and kitty sister are both adorable! Congratulations on both!
Beautiful!
ReplyDelete2 1/2 years already?!! Wow. Congrats on Henry. Opal and Zoe are so lovely.

ReplyDeleteSo cute. Love how Opal's black markings on her head make her look like she's wearing a stylish bob.
ReplyDeleteYou're right! It's Thoroughly Modern Opal. Now where did her flapper dress go?
