Oh my goodness, that's hilarious! I've often wished for a tail to chase myself, and my Emily still chases hers as an old lady kitty, so hopefully Effie will have a lifetime of entertainment from hers as well!
A friend of mine once had a Cairn Terrier that managed this feat. I wasn't there, but apparently the pooch in question then attempted to bring it to her on command. According to her, this was AFV-worthy and I believe it.
My Alice, who is about 3 years old, still occasionally chases her tail. What's funny is that she seems to suddenly realize what she's doing, and then stops, only to start again in a few minutes!
She is one determined little girl! I'm surprised she doesn't topple over from the dizziness. So cute!
ReplyDeletethat is so cute! How long did she keep it up? Kittens can have a long attention span when they're on the hunt...

ReplyDeleteDizzy kitty! I hope that she realizes it's attached to her before she bites it. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Effie! Some day you will catch that elusive tail! I love it when they discover they have a tail. One of my cats is positively obsessed with hers.
ReplyDeleteOne of mine actually caught his, once. It did not end well.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine! Kind of like the snake eating itself, only furrier and with more freaking out when teeth met tail? ;D Poor kitty!

ReplyDeleteKeep trying Effie! That tail still has a death-grip on your behind!
ReplyDelete*bursts out laughing* You win funniest comment of the day, anon! I'll have to remember this for the next time I see a kitten chasing its tail.
DeleteDarling Effie, you are splendid. I wonder why it is that some cats never seem to even notice their tails?
ReplyDeleteDarn tailio... Just... out... of.... reach.... enh!
ReplyDeleteHow does she not fall off of there from getting dizzy?? silly girl!
ReplyDeleteredonkulous
ReplyDeleteWill tail-chasing ever not be cute and entertaining to watch? *chuckles* Absolutely adorable. Go Effie! You can do it!
ReplyDeleteMy 7yo Raven does the same thing. Spins, stops, spins the other way. But only in the basement. Go Effie Go.
ReplyDeleteShe makes me dizzy! It is so cute when their tail grows into their line of vision and they act surprised that this thing came out of nowhere!
ReplyDeleteGoofy girl! Like others, I’m impressed with her balance and perseverance.
ReplyDeleteMaren is part Manx, so she has a tail but it’s quite short, and watching her chase it is hysterically funny.
Our 21-year-old cat gave her tail a dirty look and a few grabs the day she died - she never gave up trying to catch the sneaky little bugger.
