Food Beards

You would think that with a name like Kibblesmith these kittens would have mastered this eating thing.  Maeve is the messiest, and when she's done dining, she's always wearing a full food beard.   Delphine is second messiest, and her food beard is more of a "Van Dyke".  Evie is comparatively cleaner, but still a little piggy,  and sports a food goatee.

I wish I could provide a post today with glorious, fluffy, sparkling, and shiny kittens, but with this lot, taking a photo of such a kitten is next to impossible.

So instead I will share with you Miss Maeve at her messiest.

    1. Maeve was the one in the previous post who was basically rubbing her face all over the inside of the dish... And yet, it does still seem a little extreme...

  2. Looking at those photos, I'm amazed any cat winds up eating as cleanly as they eventually do!

  3. Those of us who are tempted to foster but know we don't have the time or space, need only refer to this series of photos when the urge gets too strong. Thank you, Laurie.

  6. I'm sorry, but I think the food beard makes her even cuter! And I want pictures of the other two also!!! :-)

  10. I laughed so hard the hair stylist had to stop cutting my hair for fear of cutting my hair in the wrong space.

  12. I love how in the first pic she seems to be saying, "What? Do I have something on my face?"

  16. "But, Mom, I was saving it for later!"

Good thing I have my own office at work. I really did laugh out loud!! Good thing my bath-hating kitty boys don't eat like Miss Maeve, or they'd be having BATHS!

  18. I wonder if Wylla ever helps Charlene clean kittens?

  19. She looks like a mini lioness in the first pic.

  20. I'll take a messy eating kitten any day over a sickly foster kitten that you are just praying will eat. Nothing a little warm water dip won't clean up!

  21. I think Miss Maeve has been told of Charlene's master kitten bathing skills and is trying to be the one to take the "Charlene couldn't fully clean me up" title.

  22. OMGoodness! She looks like a mini lion. You do have your hands full!
Also, I believe Maeve Binchy would have loved having a wee kitten named after her.

  25. OMG, I'm STILL laughing out loud! So funny! And I so agree with Anonymous who said that s/he would take messy kitties over sick kitties any day.

  26. It must have been very good! The kittens seem to be living life with gusto!

  27. Actually they are pretty smart! They are saving the food for later so they do not need to bother you because they are starving to death! LOL!!! :-)

  28. Precious ones....reminds me of having to teach the 5-week-old Elizabeth to eat. Which she's still not totally ace at.
