Thankful, Stuffed Full
We spent our Thanksgiving at home, and were joined by Craig's parents and Brian, our friend. Wylla is always in the middle of everything when we have guests, and Charlene tends to retreat, but all the good smells wafting from our kitchen, and the hopes of catching bite, kept Bean close.
We cooked all day, and sat down at the table around 4:00.
We stuffed ourselves, while hopeful cats sat underfoot.
I made my very first pumpkin pie ever, and though it was very, very from perfect, it tasted good.
Both girls were happy when Craig's mom offered them a lick of whipped cream after the pumpkin pie was served. Wylla was so excited she knocked the spoon from her hand
Once the table was cleared, and dishes were done, we retired to the living room and watched the cats play. We should have gone out for a walk, but instead, the only exercise we got was tossing the cat toys and waving the feather wand.
It was a lovely day, and we were grateful to have these people at our table, and the cats beneath it.
I hope you all had a wonderful day, too!
PS Thanks to all who sent in photos of their cats and kitties enjoying their gingerbread cat houses. We ended up getting a TON of images, far more than I expected, and I'll be sharing those with you on Monday. Thank you!!

ReplyDeleteI wanted to take a picture of my kitties with a gingerbread house, but I could not find one at my Target! :(

ReplyDeleteThanks to you and Craig for being such wonderful foster parents!
oh, and Gretchen, keep checking back at Target. My local one was either sold out or had none originally, but they had them on Wed. It comes in a flat box!

What a gorgeous portrait of Wylla! She's grown so well into her floof and I'm glad we've had the pleasure of being able to watch through photographs.
ReplyDeleteThe pie looks wonderful, as does the centerpiece.

ReplyDeleteThanksgiving in Canada was in October, however the intent of the day is without borders. And it's a good time to send a big thank you for all you do for kittens and cats in need. Not to mention making my day that much brighter with your blog! Thanks Laurie - with love from Toronto from Brigitte, Atticus, Mae and Malcolm
