I was looking at the calendar yesterday, and marveling at how quickly 2014 has flown by. I flipped ahead to January, and was reminded that our wee girl will be turning TWO in less than three weeks.
It really is hard for me to believe. I guess because of her size, it doesn't seem like she could possibly be a grown-up cat. But this little cat of mine, well, she's an adult.
So, I looked to the archives for a reminder of how much smaller she once was, and found this picture of her perched in the kitchen.
And I laughed because this is the exact pose and glare I see before every single meal, every single day.
So yes, technically she's a "grown-up" cat, but honestly, she's hardly changed a bit.
It has been a joy to watch you raise Ms. Wylla. She is so expressive and sweet, as is Ms. Bean. They're obviously adored and living The Life in your home.
ReplyDeleteWow--it is hard to believe Wee Wylla is nearly two already! Where does the time go?! I love living vicariously with your two girls and your itinerant babies through this blog.
ReplyDeleteWho knew then that she was just what the Butterbean/Cinottto/Miller home needed! XO
ReplyDeleteWylla won us all over the first time we saw her. Such a joy that she survived and thrived. Love her so much. xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you decided to keep her ~ There for a while you insisted you would not. She is a sweetheart!!
ReplyDeleteThis blog is brand new to me! I'm stopping in because it's all about kitties. What cute pics! Hope you and Kitty have a wonderful weekend. If you have time, check out my post today with the kitty under the Christmas tree! :-))
ReplyDeleteWee Wylla has been a source of joy for all of us.
ReplyDeleteI think she's gotten cuter as she's grown up. She's turned into a very confident and outgoing cat. This should be no surprise considering how well Butterbean turned out. You and Craig are wonderful pet parents. Thank you for all you've done.
ReplyDeleteShe reminds me of my cat, Lena, who is 9 but still comes to me in the morning for pets and will bring her toy ball into the bathroom while I shower and ask that I toss it for her to chase as soon as I pull back the curtain.
She is the perfect cat.
ReplyDeleteAh, that glare of "where's the food human!" I know it well.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on Wylla's upcoming birthday.
She is simply adorable! Jo x
ReplyDeleteHooray for Wylla! I have to say, I'm so happy to see so many lovely pictures and updates of Wylla and Bean! I love it when you're able to foster kittens, of course, but seeing Bean continue to be such a loving kitty, and seeing Wylla grow up, is like getting to look in on family members :)
ReplyDeleteThat is the joy of tinycats—they never lose their kitten cuteness!
ReplyDeleteHappy almost-birthday darling Wylla!
Our Sadie is a tiny girl too and though she is six, it's hard for me to think of her as "adult." Wylla is a gorgeous lady cat and it's fun to see her mature.
ReplyDeleteWylla wouldn't have to glare at you like that if you didn't take so long to feed her. She's starving to death, donchaknow! That's probably why she's so small, because of the malnourishment she suffers as a result of you taking five seconds too long for her liking every morning. ;D
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious, floofy dolly Wylla is. I’m so glad for the joy she brings to you, Craig and Charlene.
ReplyDeletePrecious Wylla! You were a darling kitten, and now you are a beautiful, petite almost 2 year old lady cat! I remember reading that you and Charlene Butterbean each got a good report about your weight at the doctor a couple of weeks ago, too. You are two beautiful, special ladies!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful kitty! I'd love to have a cat that doesn't grow so big.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my second tinycat (may Miss Mini rest in peace) and I can tell you they are a joy. My current tiny lady has a little chubby belly, but I can never get over how cute her miniature paws and button nose and teeny little head are. Her brother is like all of 10 lbs. and he seems so big, LOL! I love the actual big cats too—my first cat as a girl was 25 lbs. Maybe get one of each :)
DeleteOne thing has changed from Wylla's earliest days: her eyes are wiiiide open. Before the cause of her digestive troubles was diagnosed, her eyes were dull and half-closed. Now she is literally bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
ReplyDeleteHer birthday is on the cat calendar in my bedroom!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I shouldn't bring this up...but I am. I recall a post you put up about how you weren't going to adopt Wylla, that even though you loved her so, she needed to find a special home. When I read that I thought, 'she doth protest too much', and knew you were hooked. Just like the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you used your head and followed your heart! Thanks for sharing your kids with us!
