Cats and Glasses

I was doing a little shopping online for a new pair of glasses, and spent I some time looking at Warby Parker's collection.

On their site, they have a "virtual try-on" feature, and after uploading a photo of myself and spending a little time seeing how their designs looked on me, I thought I would "try"a few pairs on Charlene.

So I tried uploading her photo.

But sadly, it was rejected.

So I tried a photo of Wylla.

And that didn't work either.

Nor did Mimsey's.

So, I ordered a few sample pairs to try on at home.

I guess we'll have to do things like we used to.  In reality.

  1. It just doesn't recognize that much cute! That's too bad. Oh well. Like you said, you'll just have to resort to reality.. :-)

  2. I've tried to tag my cats in iPhoto. iPhoto doesn't recognize kitty faces either.

  5. Have you ordered glasses from them before? I checked out their site and love so many of their frames but I've never ordered, only gone into eye wear places.

    1. I haven't, Jenn. Until recently, they only did single-vision lenses, so I couldn't wear them. I ordered several pairs to try on at home, and we'll see what they're like in person.

    2. Thanks - I guess it can't hurt to try on at home and check them out.

  11. These frames coordinate nicely with Wylla's coloring. However, she may need a little bit of duct tape to keep them on her head!

  12. I know it's a bit off topic but using cat pictures made me remember something I did in my first professional job as a web developer out of college. I needed to use some colors and didn't know which ones were best. So I took a digital picture of my cat at the time and used Photoshop's "eye drop" feature to get the color of his eyes, nose, and fur. I thought it looked great. My boss... not so much.
