This.
I have no idea what these two were up to, but I was walking into the kitchen with camera in hand to put the battery in the charger, and this is what I saw.
Charlene looks a tad guilty.
And I know that often we project human emotions onto our cats, but I do believe cats are capable of feeling guilt.
Or is she angry? Angry at me for seeing this moment, for laughing at them, or taking a picture? Or angry at Wylla because she encroaching on her space? The chair is right next to a furnace vent, so this spot is coveted on cold days.
Who knows for sure what's happening here, but I'm grateful for this moment because these two gave me a good laugh, and something to ponder.
Thanks, cats. You're good at that.
My husband & I were just talking about how weird it is that we have animals wandering around our house. We were also talking about how we think they do feel love. Our little girl (kitty) just adores her Daddy. You can see the love in her face when she looks at him. I agree with you that they can feel guilt. Our little girl sure does look guilty when we catch her chewing on charger cords.
ReplyDeleteHa, it looks like Bean is spanking her sister!
ReplyDeleteOr she is getting ready to shove her off the chair!
DeleteBean is saying, "Sorry Mom, I showed Wylla how to unlock the liquor cabinet."
ReplyDelete*bursts out laughing* Heaven help us all; Bean *and* Wylla getting into the liquor cabinet! Time to change the lock. XD
DeleteI firmly believe that they have certain qualities, like guilt, love, and all. My best guess as to what Charlene would be saying here is, "Nothing to see here, mom. Move along.....". :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was thinking too! "Keep walking, Mom. There is nothing to see here." Maybe they are breaking into the cabinet where the catnip is stored?
DeleteThank goodness the camera was in hand! I imagine you never putting it down, based on all the wonderful and hilarious moments you are able to capture!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo! I can't imagine what the two of them were up to...
ReplyDeleteYep, guilty as charged. Miss Bean pleads guilty to starting to push the annoying, er, sister off HER chair. Too bad you now have the evidence to prove it.
ReplyDeleteSeems like she might be saying, "She's mine, and you can't have her." ;)
ReplyDeleteNothing to see here, Mom. Nothing at all. Especially not under the tablecloth.
ReplyDeleteWylla, play cool--she spotted us!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely guilty :D So cute, made my day!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Bean does look like she is up to something interesting.
