I know you all know this, and I'm preaching to the choir here, but before you try this game at home, please remember that string can be a hazard to cats. Never let your kitty ingest string - it can cause major issues and is potentially fatal.
So, if you use string as a cat toy, never let go of the other end, and when you're done playing, put the string somewhere safe and out of paw's reach.
With that said, Wylla and Charlene think string is really fun. And those lightning fast paws are pretty cute.
We have to keep a constant eye on our cat Pippin. He's addicted to chewing wires. :-/

ReplyDeleteOh, my doodness sakes alive, Miss Charlene Butterbean just waits her turn and Wylla just goes for it...They are so dadblased cute, makes my day to see these two regal gals look and watch and play, such beautiful kitteh cats..thanks for sharing, we have two cats and Ginger our outdoor kitty who is actually coming into the house, she got all fixed up and clean and dewormed and shampooed and set as they say, she feels better and is looking regal..they all love their toys the wee one goes nuts for strings and such so we removed them all fearing she would ingest it, but she has a new regal sleeping couch I made for her and tons of toys and warmth and food and water,the others kinds ignore her and I do have to cuddle our older gal a lot and she sleeps in another area our outdoor/indoor boy loves the wee one!
ReplyDeleteMy cat, Pepi, loves to chew on string. I have seen her pull down the dish towel because it had dangling threads and she'll chew on the cords to the blinds. (She's done it enough that there's no longer a loop on the bottom so it's no longer a choking hazard.) Thankfully she's shown no interest in electric cords and if I wad up the dish towels like the bachelor I am, she isn't interested in that either.
ReplyDeleteMy Finn loves anything that looks like string (shoe laces, ribbon, yarn, etc) -- eagle eyes need to watch him constantly. Love Ms. Bean's patty cake interpretation.
ReplyDeleteCharlene is a major string theoretician, and I love the Wylla extreme-close-up action. (Also, the next vid that came up was the Red Pandas frolicking in the snow!)

ReplyDeleteZoubi loves to have mint dental floss used on her teeth. So we are especially careful to put it in a trash can with a lid!
ReplyDeleteI can vouch for that. Quite a few years ago, my cat Joe needed to have 3' of thread cut out of him. No clue where/how he found it. I've always been careful with things like that. Then, just 2 months after that, his sister Meg launched herself into space from the top of the piano, snagged the ribbon on a balloon sitting up against a cathedral ceiling, and ate several feet of it before we knew what was happening. And need surgery, too. Fortunately, both came through fine, though Meg did lose a bit of intestine. They're both 15+ now.

ReplyDeleteYears ago, my kitty ate a piece of Christmas tinsel.... Needless to say we were very lucky and I found it in the litter box... Thanks for warning ALL of us about string!
