The wee one has been hovering just below seven pounds for a few weeks now. I'm been anxious to see her roll past it, so I've been weighing her everyday. Well, yesterday she did it!
Wylla Stout weighs seven pounds!!!!
SEVEN POUNDS!
And this makes us very happy!
This time last year, she had just hit five pounds, so she really has made great progress in the past 12 months. You can definitely feel the difference when you give her a hug. There's more girth, for sure.

Congrats! What's your secret? My cat has slowly been dropping weight for a while. Even switching to yummy wet food doesn't help much. I see her eating, playing, demanding to be fed and all but she doesn't seem to gain any weight. I don't see her being sick, she just doesn't have much of an appetite and doesn't like certain foods.

DeleteI agree with Sam: have he thyroid checked. Also have her checked for diabetes. I had a cat that dropped a lot of weight. He was diagnosed with both hyperthyroidism and diabetes. AND - - he did very well after he began his medicine, so take heart.

DeleteYup.. My old cat would eateateat, never gain weight, she's now been on thyroid medication and it's seem to have helped.
DeleteWylla looks like she is balancing uneasily on that scale. Kind of like when I have to get on the scale after a weekend spent cooking and baking....

ReplyDeleteI think Wylla will surprise you but it will take time. My brain-damaged cat looked like she'd never reach six pounds. She's now about eight pounds. It took years, but she grew. Good luck and best wishes to all of you!
