One of Wylla's favorite game is "Bed Mice". Maybe your cats play it too? It's a simple game- just move a hand or foot hidden beneath the covers and wait for kitty to pounce.
Usually this game is reserved for evening hours, but Wylla was a little squirrelly this morning, and I was slow to get out of bed, so we played a couple of rounds.
Get those Bed Mice, Wylla. Get. Those. Mice.
Our cat does that, too, though not with anywhere near that amount of energy! He's 12 now, so it's understandable that he's slowed down a bit. Go, Wylla, go!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. My cats play it too.
ReplyDeleteOur cat loves this, and she has a very active imagination... sometimes folds and wrinkles in the blankets get attacked, too. :)
ReplyDeleteShe really puts a hurting on those bed mice, doesn't she? I love the pounce and rabbit kicks! Wylla means business! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love it when they use their backlegs to disembowel the bed mice! SO glad my cats stopped hunting in the middle of the night when I was just trying to turn over in bed.
ReplyDeleteoh yeah! those back feet are FIERCE!!
DeleteWonderful to see Wylla enjoying life to the full.
ReplyDeleteMilo loves to play Bed Mice too.

good job Wylla
ReplyDeleteWe call it Blanket Monsters, but yes, it's our Darla's favorite game.
ReplyDeleteWe call it Monster under the Covers. Sometimes Junior is the hunter and sometimes he plays Monster. He loves to peek through or out from under the blanket and pounce on whatever lurks beyond.
DeleteMy Charlotte does this. We thought it was adorable in the winter with the big comforter, but when spring came and we were down to a cotton bedspread, we learned she doesn't have very good claw manners. Ouch!
ReplyDeletePearla loves this game! Only I tend to call it "Teaching Her Bad Habits" because sometimes a gal's gotta move her feet and doesn't want the pounce!
ReplyDeleteOMG. What did we do for entertainment before we had cats!? LOL

Such enthusiasm!
ReplyDeleteNo bed mice can escape such a fearsome predator!
ReplyDeleteExcellent job hunting and catching those bed mice, Wylla! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteLG does it, too, complete with fast and furious rabbit-kicks. One variation of the game that doesn't tend to go over too well is attacking his sleeping dad's feet first thing in the morning. The other night it was very warm, so we took some quilts and afghans off the bed. It was cooler but did leave dad's feet somewhat at risk.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see all your recent posts of ACTIVE Wylla.

Figaro loves this game! Although he doesn't get into it as much as Wylla does. Wow!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, the universally enjoy game of bed mice. Wylla's got wicked skills!
ReplyDeleteWe don't do bed mice, but one of mine does love to burrow under the covers while purring loudly. I keep trying to tell him there's no sense hiding if he's going to keep purring at top volume.
ReplyDeleteLG likes to burrow under blankets, and while doing so he makes this funny little "meep" sound that he doesn't make at any other time. Too. Cute.
DeleteBed mice is a big favourite in our house too!
