With every litter we've hosted, I've tried to get at least one group shot before the kittens head out the door. I thought it would be fun to share a collection of a few of my favorite family portraits with you today, so here you go!
Please enjoy!
Do you remember all these kittens? Which litter were we hosting when you started following the IBKC?
I'm reading this posy on my phone in the hospital and this is the best medicine I've had all day...I feel so much better. I'm hank you for sharing the wonderful work you do.
ReplyDeleteThis post makes me smile from ear to ear.
ReplyDeleteI need littler names and dates in oder to say how long I've been stalking you, but it's been MANY years of joy!
ReplyDeleteSo much adorable! After some poking around on the "index of kittens," I think I discovered this wonderful blog either around the time the Loudermilks debuted, or as the Smalls exited. Not sure, as LG had not yet adopted me, and I was either lurking or posting as an Anon. :-)
ReplyDeleteAdorable! It's impossible to pick the cutest family. I started following with the Bouvier family. It's so hard to believe it's been that long!
ReplyDeleteAwww lovely families! Can't remember who was around when I first visited and I can't even remember how I found your site...
ReplyDeleteFavourite kittens are the Ambrose-Ericksons and any other black and white kitten you have as my fav coloured cats are black and whites... I would have given the whole litter a home together!
Adorable! Absolutely adorable! I can't remember one litter from the next, so it is impossible for me to tell you which litter was my first. Let's just say that I have been following you for years... :-)
ReplyDeleteThese kittens are much as a blessing to you as you are to them. Heck they are a blessing to us readers who get so much joy from seeing them here. They lighten our load. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh my sweetness of kitteh cats..what dolls, can't remember when I came onboard but if I had the resources and the house I would take them all, oh, vey I just could not resist them but I would have to have a huge huge cattery for them, heated in the winter, cool in the summer, all fenced in with lots of cat trees, places to rest, litter places and great food and toys, and people to help me daily, but I would be happy as a clam..Lovely photos, hugs n smooches to the Queen and to Miss Wylla Stout all grown up and lovely!XXX()()()()
ReplyDeleteOh my - you just totally made my day! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMaybe 2008? Miss Drewey was still alive. I found this wonderful site through a link from the "I Can Has Cheezburger" site.
ReplyDeleteBuddy, Tiger and Mr. M's Mom
Oh my I could look at these little faces all day long. I lovelovelove the photo of the kitties sleeping on the window ledge all propped one upon the other and the poor straggler looking forlorn. Love.
ReplyDeleteAlso it amazes me at the crazy assortment of colors and furs you can see within many litters and then sometimes they are sooo similar one to the other. Love those little faces.
I can't remember any of their names and can't remember what litter was on tap when I started following but I do know one thing for sure - I've loved every.single.one.
I started following right before you got the Medleys. I wasn't very happy in my job at the time and to cheer myself up I typed "kittens" into Google. I followed the link to you and the rest is history. Your girls and the kittens have really cheered me up over the years.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I don't even remember when I started. It was before I got my house because I was excited about finally being able to adopt some kitties. That was 2006 I believe.
ReplyDeleteI think "my" first litter may have been the Darlings-- I recall a "Hubie" who was especially funny and cute-- and I think soon after that the Fortunatos came in, and I have had a real case of the Squeeeeeeeeeees for "Warren" ever since, LOL. Of course each and every kitten has been and is squee-worthy! And Drewey, Bean, and Wylla became almost family here......It's dark and wet here today, and (Indiana is at the NE end of Tornado Alley) we may get storm warnings too, so all these family portraits are especially welcome. And Aegir and Iapteus send purrrrrrrrrs to the writer above who is in the hospital. Hang in there.-- from Arowyn
ReplyDeleteI am continually amazed at how you get these shots... I take photos for our local shelter, and I have a hard time getting one kitten to sit still, let alone an entire litter!
ReplyDeleteI don't remember which litter I started with, but I've been following the blog for about five years now. It's a ray of sunshine in a sometimes very dark world.
124 itty bitty kitties
ReplyDeleteThe Lamms and the Smalls are just dolls, and that is alls. But they are all cute.
ReplyDeleteI remember the first litter I followed on your blog -- the Medleys! I'm not sure how I first came across this blog, but I'm glad I did!
ReplyDeleteThe Lyttletons! Dark gray and black kittens get me every time. Wasn't it Pia Lyttleton with the ring of white on her tail? She was in a picture with Craig, looking over her shoulder...showing off her tail! Coy little miss.
ReplyDeleteDid you not get a family portrait of the Livermores or am I missing the picture? I started following when you had the Pickets.
ReplyDeleteIt's a "best of" so not all of the litters are represented here.
DeleteThank you for correcting me. My head was in cataloging procedures that missed the statement "best of" As far as I am concerned every cat/kitten you and your family touch end up the BEST.
DeleteOf course, the Lamms! But my all time fav kittens were Geraldine and Malcolm. That little Malcolm really stole my heart. I still go look at his little grin and the day starts out just right.
ReplyDeleteI love Zelda "Pin-up Girl" Lamm. Makes me laugh every time I see that picture! (#7)
ReplyDeleteShe still sits like that on occasion!
DeleteMore! More, I say!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are proof that Laurie is an advanced kitten wrangler/magician. Is there anyone else in the world that could take so many kitten group shots? Or even one?
ReplyDeleteI so love the last one with my dear Sheldon.
ReplyDeleteBig grin.
Auntie Em
It was the summer of 2011 and the McGillicuddy's stole my heart. I will always have a special fondness for Victoria Anne. I've been hooked ever since.
ReplyDeleteAwwww! I started around the time of the Picketts and have checked in every weekday since. Would it be possible to get the names of each of these families in order? I see two kittens who are helping me get an idea of what my new baby (5 year old Precious) would have looked like as a kitten and I would love to read and see more about each. The two are with Siamese looking siblings, but are lighter in their coloring (pictures 3 and 8). I love older cats, but would so love to fill in the missing gap in my baby's growth from a kitten to fabulous cat! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI've been a huge fan and humble admirer of IBKC since 2007 sometime, not long after the Picketts, the story of sweet Jerry Lee stays with me to this day. The first litter I remember were the Davenports, many years of kitties and joy!! Thanks so much for all you do Laurie!!
ReplyDeleteI found this site through "The Daily Kitten" out of England in May, 2008; about the time the Picketts werein residence with Drewey and the Bean.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all you do!
Gosh, I found IBKC through either Cute Overload or ICanHasCeezburger
ReplyDeleteOY! So much cuteness
oh my! sweet kitten overload! i cannot recall which kitty family i started with, they were all so cute! I know i have contributed to the fund raiser for 3 years so that is my best estimate. thank you for making my day, every day!
ReplyDeleteI discovered the IBKC by seeing the "anatomy of a yawn" somewhere online. Since then I have saved countless pictures onto my work computer's slide show. I frequently send them to business associates who need a smile and an 'ah'. I have numerous pictures of litters in the red/white braided basket. I'm sure I'm not the only one who let out a squeal of delight when you decided to keep Wylla. Thank you for all the kittens, itty and bitty.
ReplyDeleteI joined around the time of the Lovejoys and the Darlings (one came after the other, right?). One of my friends told me about your site. And from here I found Love and Hisses and 50 Kittens!
ReplyDeleteFound you originally in 2009 or 2010 but then had no internet for a very long time so started following you properly in April or May 2012. For the life of me though I can't remember what litter you had then (and this blog doesn't sort by date unfortunately).
ReplyDeleteThe adorable Gibson Gang are who I remember best from my early days here...I fell madly, and deeply for those orange boys.
ALL of these kittens are so gorgeous and the shots so wonderful! I can't even pick a favorite. The are some of the prettiest kittens ever. I remember almost all of them but sadly can't remember their names. No matter...I Love these pictures!
ReplyDeleteI have collapsed from all the squeeing. I could never pick a favorite bunch. They are all just adorable!
ReplyDeleteYou made me melt. I remember them ALL!
ReplyDeleteI found you immediately before Beulah Mae and the Picketts moved in. I don't remember exactly how - but it was likely via either I Can Has or Cute Overload. Funny thing - I don't frequent either of those sites anymore, but I come *here* every day!
ReplyDeleteThere was one post that won me over, Laurie. The "Such a Good Mama Cat" post. There was just something about that cat instinctively and absolutely trusting you with a precious kitten as a fight/flight response... I knew you were someone special.
IBKCers - If you joined after the Picketts, I definitely encourage you to read through their journey. This family was special - an exception to the rule - the only time a mama cat has been in the mix. But the Pickett family was a prime example of how incredible Laurie is - through both the good times and the sad. You will laugh, and you will cry. And you will be reminded about how wonderful a foster mom Laurie is. :-D Love, Darin
So funny! The third pic from the bottom reminds me of my wedding photographs thanks to my friends son! I'll always love pic #1 with the world's happiest kitten (Malcolm?) smiling from ear-to-ear, Jo x
ReplyDeleteThe 3rd from the bottom had me laughing out loud. Funny!
