Happiness is a Catnip Banana

We have a large basket in our living room that's filled to the brim with a broad assortment of cat and kitten toys. Wylla likes to climb inside and fish out something good to play with, and recently she rediscovered their old friend, the catnip banana, buried deep in the basket.

Since it's resurfaced, it's been a great source of entertainment for both Charlene and Wylla.  I've seen both of them take a roll with it individually many times and even witnessed a small fight over it this morning. I had to break out the catnip dynamite stick so both had a good catnip toy to bunny kick.

I've got a clip of Wylla wrestling with the banana to share with you today.  I'm trying to get one of Bean doing the same, but she's always so cool, and once she realizes the camera is going, she always stops dorking out with the banana.  I'll catch her one day when she's too high to notice!

  2. My girls have that same exact banana.. It's gross, but they still dig it out of the toy bag every once in a while and have a good roll with it. They must pack those with the GOOD stuff.

We have gone through a couple of them because Sheldon will chew on it until there's a hole. And then he eats the catnip. Pearla prefers the nip toys with fur on the outside.

  4. The catnip banana in my house is so well-loved it has turned a little brown over the years and is quite flaccid... It might be time for a new banana.... In the meantime, they go crazy over the catnip rainbow.

  6. Is that a "Yeowww" brand Banana? We have one as well. The Yeowww toys do seem to have higher-quality catnip. There are several shapes--another favorite is the candy cane. It is large so is "bunny-kickable"! Check out Amazon.com--they have tons of them!

  7. We use homemade catnip mice stuffed with Cosmic Catnip. Our 1st Maine Coon would lick the mouse until it was really gross and then lay on it and slide across the kitchen floor. Thereby leaving a lovely scent trail to get really stoned on.

  8. Hello, Laurie, Charlene, and Wylla! I have been reading your blog since Effie and Hazel found their homes, and I have adored it since! Well, ya see, I have a blog: www.pawprovince.com
Anyway, on the right sidebar of the page, I listed a bunch of my favorite blogs, and yours is one of them! Maybe we could do a blog interview or something, but it's up to you.

    See ya later!
