I went through the records last night because I was curious about the pace that Wylla has gained weight. She started off on course for the first month of her life and was right where her brother and sister were at when they all moved in with us, but once she started on solid foods and her issues began, she started getting behind.
It was slow growing for quite some time and during most of her first year she weighed literally half of what she should have. Since she started doing so much better around the start of this year, she's been putting on weight at a pretty good clip.
The photos below were taken on the days she rolled past these weight milestones. Here's our girl, pound by pound.
One pound: Feb 4, 2013 (one month old)
Two pounds: April 25th, 2013 (three and a half months old)
Three pounds: July 8th, 2013 (six months old)
Four pounds: September 20th, 2013 (eight and a half months old)
Five pounds: January 23rd, 2014 (one year old)
Six pounds: August 1st, 2014 (nineteen months old)
Six and a half pounds: December 15th, 2014 (Almost two!)
Seven Pounds: February 23rd, 2015 (two years and two months)
Seven and three-quarter pounds: (today!)
Lovely girl! Syb
ReplyDeleteFolks, I believe we're witnessing a miracle.
ReplyDeleteAve. weight at 8 weeks is 2lbs.
Gail
Indeed she is beautiful, and I dare say she is loving life
ReplyDeleteWe could be happier that sweet Wylla is blossoming. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Wylla!
ReplyDeleteGrow Wylla grow! (But not TOO much...) :)
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures! They certainly reflect her growth, weight-wise and maturity-wise. Its neat to see her progress. But my all-time favorite picture of the Wee One is the very first one! That one literally made me gasp and squee out loud! The cute/beauty is strong in this girl! It warms my heart to hear that she is doing so well! Nice going, Wylla, Laurie, Craig, and Charlene of course! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat very first Wylla pic is also one of my all time favorites! Such a cute little girl.
DeleteIt's fun to see her changes. It's getting hard for her to fit on the scale now!
That girl has always been worth many millions times (whatever) her weight (may be) in gold. Ditto for Charlene.
ReplyDeleteShe really was ridiculously cute at 1 month. That is one of my favorite pictures of the entire IBKC!
ReplyDeleteMine too! I remember the day that photo was posted. My daughter and I squealed! <3 <3 <3 So adorable!
DeletePound per pound, that is the cutest damn cat I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteI'm still convinced that at 1 lb. she was 99% floof! Such a pretty girl, and she's matured so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Wylla!
ReplyDeleteSo ridiculously cute at one month old! At least half her weight must have been fur, I'm sure of it. ;D The look she's giving you at the seven pound weigh-in makes me think she's about had it with all this "Time to get on the scale" nonsense. You might have a floofy feline rebellion on your hands the next time you bring the scale out. ;D
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that she's doing so well but I'd love to read about new kittens soon. I used to come here to relax while reading about their antics and stories but the stretch has been very long and by now this is no longer the IBKC but a Wylla and at times Wylla&Bean site. No offense meant and I understand that you have your reasons but to me it does no longer appeal, I neither follow Lil'Bub, Grumpy cat or else for the same reasons :'(
ReplyDeleteIt is absolutely fine if you need to stop following the blog!
DeleteAnd don’t worry, we’re not offended. We think Lil’Bub and Grumpy Cat are really awesome - thank you for comparing us to them!
I highly recommend Love and Hisses (in the sidebar).
DeleteOh, my kitten cuteness Miss Wylla has grown up loverly indeed..I only follow your blog, the wee ones are lovely but the Queen Miss Charlene Butterbean and Miss Wylla Stout are just too darn cute, smart and amazingly chill..I so wish I could have kitteh cats like they are mine are all over our home, and try to sneak out, we are vigilant and they must live in our home and I am getting Miss Ginger fixed as I type this e-mail, also brushed, cleaned, nails clipped and bathed and flea stuff too, we even have her room at the ready the others we adore will not be bothered as she will be staying in her new digs and loving it we are sure!
ReplyDeleteOne of the sweetest kitties ever - thank you Laurie and Craig for keeping her and Charlene for loving her too - you 3 are responsible for her amazing growth and ultimate cuteness. Your blog brightens every day! (And I have 2 wonderful little boys too.)
ReplyDeleteShe is a lovely girl now, but at 1 pound she was the most impossibly adorable kitten I've ever seen. She has such a big personality for such a little girl.
ReplyDeleteshe is just so darn cute at all ages and weights!
ReplyDeleteI love the look on her face in picture #8. "Is this the same bowl from before? 'Cause it seems a little smaller..."
