This is a whole new level of kitten crazy. I honestly didn't know kittens could even move in such a way.
The moment is brief, just 3 seconds long. In this video you'll see the move twice at normal speed, once slower, and once even slower. I thought if I slowed it down we could analyze it and make sense of it. But at any speed I still think "HOW did she do that?"
Please give it a watch.
I sent the video to Cynthia and here is her theory:
I think she must have tiny jet engines strapped to each foot. Or maybe she got caught in a cosmic string or a space-time anomaly. I guess what I'm saying is maybe didn't move... It was that the world around her moved.
Makes sense to me!
Wow! That's amazing! These kittens would be great gymnasts. I'd give that routine an 8.5 since it looks like she didn't stick the landing.
ReplyDeleteThe Space Time Continum went awry with this one.
ReplyDeleteBest video EVER!
I like all of those theories better than kitty poltergeist. :-)
ReplyDeleteWait, maybe it's purranormal activity?
DeleteThe built-in ejector seats are definitely working!
ReplyDeletei love these girls! you could set up a 24 hour live feed and just let us observe.
ReplyDeleteJet packs. Has to be jet packs.
ReplyDeleteOk that one needs to be named "Olga". Goodness what a handful you have with this group!
ReplyDeleteHa! My little Bo does that, and has since she's a kitten. She'll grab a toy, usually a fuzzy mouse, and throw it up in the air with her head. She then will chase after it. We don't even have to entertain her, she entertains herself!
ReplyDeleteI think we're overlooking the obvious that she is actually not a cat, but is in fact a rabbit in disguise.
ReplyDeleteThat might be it!! She has some serious springs in those legs!!!
DeleteBatten down the hatches before you let them upstairs !!!!!
ReplyDeletePerhaps she's part hummingbird. They can fly backwards too. :-)
ReplyDeleteOMG that's some serious coordination! LOL
ReplyDeleteAnd she gets extra degree-of-difficulty points for executing this maneuver while keeping the toy in her mouf!
ReplyDeleteThat kitten is like my cat Wednesday. Wednesday is the springiest cat that I've ever seen. She's tiny, but has managed several times to get onto the top of doors.
ReplyDeleteDid she get her paws on a prototype of Dr. Bean's rocket-propelled sparkle balls?
ReplyDeleteI have foster over 100 kittens in past 5 years and have never seen the " jet pac" jump before. I agree w Cynthia's theory. Thanks for the chuckle. Gail
ReplyDeleteKitten Farts: Stronger than we realized.
ReplyDeleteThis girl's got moves! How she got those moves is the mystery.
ReplyDeleteThe Force is strong with this one.
ReplyDeleteWowie Zowie - hope it didn't hurt...
ReplyDeleteSuper-Kitty!
