Squinchy, one of the sweetest and most loving kittens you'll ever encounter, came to Sue when he was roughly four weeks old. A severe URI had caused conjunctivitis resulting in corneal adhesions that almost completely covered his eyes and caused near blindness. Also, his lower lashes rolled inward causing the lashes to irritate his eyes with every blink.
The shelter vet gave authorization for Sue to take the dear boy to Dr. Sullivan at the Animal Eye Clinic in Seattle to have the adhesions removed and correct the issue with Squinchy's ower lashes.
The surgery was quite successful!
Though his eyes appear cloudy and there is a little damage remaining, he's able to see fairly well and the lashes no longer rub on his eyes.
Suddenly, his future was literally made brighter!
Here's the Squinchy "before" pic.
And here's the "after".
Thanks to the Special Needs Fund, we can improve the lives of kittens like Squinchy!
To make a donation to the Fund, please visit our Firstgiving page.
And don't forget, we've got a matching donation challenge happening. We're getting closer to meeting it, but still have a hair over a thousand to go! Our match ends at 9:00 PM, so we have about and hour and half hours to get there.
Craig and I are stepping out to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so I'm going to have to put this Fundraiser on autopilot for the next couple of hours. Our match will be met when we hit $42,639 and I'm hoping that with just a hair over a thousand to raise, we might be able to get there with me badgering you for the next 1.5 hours.
Can you help us get there? That sure would be awesome.
Thank you so much!
