Putting on a Show

Those Hollis girls are  pretty good at entraining the passersby and they put on quite a show yesterday afternoon.  There was a fly trapped between the window and the shade and it was out of paw's reach.  They danced and paced on the windowsill,  and stretched and showed their belly spots and belly floof to the world as they tried to capture the fat, buzzing fly.

We have a lot of foot traffic down our street on Tuesday afternoons because we live close to the Farmers Market.  I saw lots of smiles pass our house, and many people pause.

A couple of weeks back, I was at the Farmers Market with Wylla  and started chatting with a stranger about cats, then fostering.  A few minutes into the conversation she said "OH, you live in the house with all the kittens in the window!"

Yep, that's us. The house with all the kittens in the window.   : )

  4. Nothing says "Home" like at least one cat or kitten in the window :) Having a whole bunch of kittens is a special house indeed!!

  9. What a great thing to be known for! We are know as the house with the beautiful flowers, due entirely to the green thumb of my retired live-in boyfriend. But people do sometimes comment on the cats in the window watching the world go by.

  10. Hi, Laurie!

    What a cute post.

The Hollis girls are the best!

Are you going to start up the daily polls again?

    1. At some point I will. It's nice to do them between litters when there's less going on.

    2. Speaking of "between litters", any word on potential adopters or pairings of these sweet girls?

    3. We don't usually announce that until paperwork has been completed and the kittens have been officially adopted.

  11. I had a cat, Mela, who scolded everyone who came to the house. Little did I know she also scolded the mailman until after her passing. Good to be known as "the house with the window full of kittens"!

  12. Silly girls -- wish I could have brought my lawn chair so I could enjoy all the entertainment. I can see the marquee now: The Internationally Acclaimed (and Very Talented) Hollis Four Will Appear Before A Live Audience at the IBKC Picture Window Theatre For One Day Only -- Hurry and Get Your Tickets Before Seating Is Sold Out. (A Command Performance is being negotiated with the IBKC Management Company)

  13. All together now:
How much are those kittens in the window?
The ones with the stri-ped tails?
Those floo-fy, spotted, and cute ones?
I do hope that they are for sale!

And of course they're up for adoption, never sale! But that's just went through my head when I saw this!

  16. You should definitely craft a little sign that says how much is that kitten in the window? Contact the Humane Society of Tacoma etc...
