Six months ago, Carly and Christian adopted a lovely three year-old calico girl named Nova from our shelter. They were thinking about adding a kitten to the mix, she mentioned this to mutual friends, and they pointed them in our direction. Shortly thereafter I received an email with the subject line "Seeking kitten love".
When Carly and Christian came to meet the kittens, within seconds they fell head-over-heals for the sweet tabby girl. She was at ease with them. She made them melt. Caroline has that effect on people, She oozes love and purrs SO hard. She is enchanting.
I think they found their kitten love, and we are thrilled for Miss Caroline.
So, all four of our Hollis Girls found amazing homes. We're so happy for them and their bright futures. Thank you to all of our amazing families who adopted these special kittens. We hope they bring you many, many years of joy!
You may have noticed there are no "gold medals" for our adoption ceremonies this round. The shelter switched microchip companies, and the new company does not provide tags. I'll miss that piece of the process, and might have to come up with something to replace it. I'll get that figured out before the next batch leaves.
And speaking of the next batch, they're here! They're just getting settled in and tomorrow we will start introductions!
Caroline is so beautiful, her new family is so lucky! I love tabby cats, especially girl tabbies with loud purrs and lots of love to give! What blessings, new homes for the Hollis girls and new kittens to meet! Only the IBKC can bring these good feelings to the web!
ReplyDeleteI am also a tabby fan, particularly brown ones (just ask LG). Congrats to all the girls!
DeleteMe three (with hubby, us 4 !). We cannot for the life of us understand why the brown tabbies are less likely to be adopted from the Shelter, but they are. We had 3 here until the late great Hyperion (Hyper) passed on (at 17) last fall. Now we have 2, Aegir & Iapetus (Petey). We hear people say "Oh, it's just a tiger" of some cat, and think they're nuts! That double-eyeliner (black + gold or cream) on brown tabbies makes their eyes show up so very beautifully, and that peachy glow across their faces is beyond charming. Maybe some people think they're less cool because they're common? Oh well! We specifically requested a kitty who would have trouble getting adopted, when we got Aegir, and Petey had been there over a year, too. We thought, "Well, our gain; we love BTs!" Black ones have trouble being adopted, too, which is also crazy. Of course all cats are beautiful if people just pay attention, even a little, but I guess some don't, or something. (This is not to say that there's anything wrong with a certain color etc catching one's eye more quickly-- obviously BTs catch mine, and so do orange or other colored ones, or solid grey, and we are both partial to the sleekness of shorthaired ones, but I bet all of us here squeeee over every kitten or cat we see, and I wish more people did and more kitties got homes!-- from Arowyn

ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll have many creative ideas for a new graduation tag for the next batch. If you can design that amazing FUNdraising set, I can only imagine what you'll come up with for this idea.
So happy for Caroline, Nova, Carly, and Christian! I hope they have many, many happy years together.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the new litter!
I'll bet that Nova is as beautiful and adorable as Caroline. May these two girls thrive and become the very best of friends.
