When Bartholomew "Bart" Mittenfloss first moved in with us, he was a scrawny little guy. It took his tiny body some time to adjust to his new diet, and once he did, he started gaining weight at a pretty good clip. And like most scrawny kittens, the weight went to his belly first. He's starting to stretch out a little more now, but his belly is still a little big.
Having a big belly has its advantages and disadvantages. When wrestling, Bart can now easily pin his brother with a single squish. His low center of gravity makes it hard for Fielding to topple him over.
But once toppled, it takes him a little longer to get back up.
And going vertical quickly, which kittens often do, does not come easy to Bart.
Whew! That was exhausting!
With a floofy belly like Bart's, vertical climbing is not necessary. Show the belly, get picked up and plopped on a higher surface. Gotta say, that belly screams for kisses!
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, he definitely has a big, round belleh, and it's begging for kisses. What's that? I'm hearing more voices. His cute little toes are begging, too, and so are his nose and the top of his head. Looks like you have your work cut out for you, Laurie!
ReplyDeleteSign me up! I'll get in line to smooch that fat belly, too.
ReplyDeleteUm, could I maybe get in line to huff that little belly? I'd try it with LG, but I'd likely get my face scratched off. I'm only allowed to touch the belly if he's very, very relaxed and sleepy, and then only briefly.
ReplyDeleteThat is so adorable! He looks a little like his belly will drag on the ground as he walks!
ReplyDeleteOh he's a cutie alright! Goodness that belly!
ReplyDeleteHis new mama is going to have such a wonderful time with these floofy boys - her face is going to ache from all the smiling and laughing she'll be doing!
Adorable!! If anyone can pull off a big belly, it's Bart!
ReplyDeleteThe more I look at this series, the more I like it.
These two boys are just so adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove Baby Bart's Belly!
ReplyDeleteExcept for that round belly he's still a rangey fellow. I wonder if that oversize stomach means he's destined to be a bigger-than-average man cat someday.
