For the next five minutes, we had this conversation looping.
"It's too cold."
"YEOOOOWLLLL."
"It's too cold."
"YEOOOOWLLLL."
"It's too cold."
"YEOOOOWLLLL."
"It's too cold."
Then I caved, put on my coat and shoes, opened the door, they slipped out, paused, and shot me a look that said "It's pretty cold out here" and they both stood with only three paws touching the frosty decking.
About a minute later, after tiny bit of exploring, they were back inside warming their paw pads on the rug.
But in that quick minute, they left some pretty adorable evidence of their brief outing.
I love the frosty paw prints! Best laugh I ever had at a cat's expense was allowing my mom's cat, Syliva, out on the 2nd floor porch and into 6" of snow. Amazing how fast 4 cat paws retract from the cold until the belly gets deep in the snow. Let's just say she sulked for a good number of hours while I chuckled.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, it's best to let them figure it out for themselves. ;D That is very adorable evidence of their brief outing.

Sweet kitty feet!! <3
ReplyDeleteWe had a similar conversation at our house today. One of my cats didn't even make it outside: she decided it was too cold after sticking her head out for a second.
ReplyDeleteSweet prints. My "baby" sister once rescued a tabby kitten that she found walking in the snow one day. She named it "Pawprints" because of the tracks it left with its little feet.
ReplyDeleteToo cute!
