Soon after, I received a response from Ruth announcing there was an available set! They had come in late the afternoon before, and had been waiting to get the once-over from Doc before they could move on to a foster home.
Ten minutes later I was at the shelter to scoop them up, and THIS is one of the morsels I returned home with.
Please give a warm welcome to Miss Chesley Higgenbottom.
Chesley is a sweet, pensive girl. She's sharp, she's bright, she's slight, and the smallest in the set. Her coat is a short, soft gray and she has a few tufts of white on her chest and near her ears. If you look closely, you can see some very subtle tabby markings on her forehead.
Chesley is named after a very dear human I know. Chesley rhymes with Elvis Presley.
Welcome, dear thing! Our wait for you has been a long one, but OH, were you worth it!
WELCOME!!!! We have been waiting a long time for you, Chelsey and whom ever came to Miss Charlene Butterbean's School for Kittens. Miss Wylla will be your daily teacher, so listen well!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!
ReplyDeleteGah! What a cutie you are Chesley! *THUNK*

ReplyDeletePeggy
Yay! Getting my kitten fix
ReplyDelete"Morsel." **sigh** A dumb word when referring to chocolate, but a perfect description for a kitten.
ReplyDelete*A deep, soft sigh. Such a sweet, beautiful little kitten -

ReplyDeleteSo worth the wait! Chesley is adorable, and the name "Higgenbottom" is simply fabulous.

ReplyDeleteI love her name! I've never heard 'Chesley' before, and it's wonderful. What a cutie, with that dab of white on her chest and the faint tabby marks on her forehead.
ReplyDeleteso very cute, i would have guessed "pensive" from the photos!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you thank you thank you, I needed kittens right now sooooo bad. Selfish? yes. True? yes. Meow!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh goody!!..... fresh kitties!!! (not that there's anything wrong with regular kitties)....;-)
ReplyDeleteHer forehead markings look a little bit like a heart. What a cute little girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat a little darling, aww. She has such an unusual eye color; what would you call that, sand with hints of blue? I wonder if they will stay that color!
ReplyDeleteThey're pretty gray and close to the color of her coat.
DeleteShe is too cute! I want to move to the west coast just so we could adopt her! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see more kittens. Chesley is lovely.
ReplyDeleteChesley has a little moon blessing on her chest. She is beautiful! I can't wait to see her personality unfold before our eyes in the weeks to come.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little Chesley. She is a soft little grey shadow of a kitty! Can't wait to see the rest of the family.
ReplyDeleteI think this is going to be the longest two weeks of Charlene and Wylla's lives, waiting until they get to meet their new charges. But boy, oh, boy, will it be worth it! Chesley is lovely. Can't wait to meet the rest of the set!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty, pretty girl, and such a lovely, soft grey coat. I'm thinking these pics will make for some very nice repeat blizzard viewing as we hunker down this weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region.
ReplyDeleteTake care! Hubby is from out there so I am aware that you guys aren't used to it or equipped for it, like we are in the midwest. (Not fun even here of course.) So thoughts & prayers-- from Arowyn
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm a former California gal, and I try to avoid driving in it. My husband is from Ohio and can handle driving in it, but then there are all those folks on the road who can't drive in it. We're just hunkering down with LG. :-)
DeleteEva,
ReplyDeleteOur new Unexpected Baby (someone dumped him out here in November) has brown eyes-- like dark sand or light chocolate, with a hint of blue or grey near the iris. They went from blue to green but kept going, and have settled at a definite light brown, and he is nearly 14 weeks old now so we think it's permanent. And it's not copper (which is rare but more common than brown), and is very pretty. Very like many cheetahs have. Looked it up and found some pics of adult cats with that color, so it does happen and even stay. Of course green, gold, copper, or blue are all gorgeous too, but I happen to just love brown eyes (hubby has them, LOL) so this is cool! Some extra reward for the work of taking him in and getting him healthy, not that that, and having his love, isn't reward enough!
Chesley's expression reminds me of our Aegir's-- she too is pensive and quiet, our little Jane Eyre kitty as we call her. They are their own kind of special delight to have around. (You can tell as you behold Chesley she will do someone good...)-- from Arowyn
Laurie... I am going to be paying close attention to these higgenbottums.. I am very interested in little Chesley Presley girl. My boy is dying for a sibling...
ReplyDeleteAaah!!! She is so cute!
