Beautiful Days, Beautiful Girls

DSC_0259

The weather this April has been absolutely gorgeous with record-breaking temperatures soaring well into the 80s.  Normally this time of year is a little more dreary and damp, so having so much sun is a real treat.

Every day the girls having been howling at the back door and demanding to be let out onto the deck. I don't mind their requests, and happily join them outdoors with a book or laptop in hand.

They are SO happy when they're out there breathing the fresh air in and soaking up the warmth. They would stay out there all afternoon if we allowed them to.

A couple of crows have noticed them and are now frequent visitors to the above power lines and nearby house and garage rooftops. They cry out at the girls and wave their wings in attempt, I think, to shoo them off. Wylla and Charlene watch them close, but seem more entertained than threatened.

Each day we do all we can to keep our girls content, and I love that Mother Nature has allowed us to give them this extra dose of happiness these past few weeks.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my girls happier!

    1. No plans for one. They do well on the deck with a human escort.

  4. I had the same experience with a crow over the weekend when I brought my cat Lena outside. It was cawwing like crazy. My first thought was that it was trying to scare me away so it could attack Lena (she's small and old). I brought her inside as the bird seemed to annoy her too. Glad to know I was just being overly protective.

  5. Send some of those temps to Western NY, please! It's been most chilly here the past several days.

  6. Crows are very smart - leave them a treat after you all go inside and they'll start to equate the girls (and you) with goodies and may even reciprocate!

  12. I often visit your blog and admire all the photos of the cutest cats! Their expression (or lack thereof) always makes me smile. Keep up the good work.

  13. My indoor-only cats got to start going out for short excursions when I adopted Stray Kitty, and now we have a routine -- they know they can go out after breakfast, and they know that when I call them in, they get a treat. So everybody's happy. It is so hard to keep cats in when you know how happy they are when they're out!
