The caregiver of this barn cat shared this photo with Patty, who heads the Barn Cat and Backyard Buddy program.
Here's the story behind it:
The cat was placed early last fall. The carpeted board mounted about 15 feet above the barn floor serves as a bridge for her to walk from one side of the barn to the other.
This bridge gives her an observation point. From this location she can survey her "realm" and enjoy the activities of people and other barn buddies (alpacas and rabbits). In the "wild", a high perch serves as a concealed site from which to hunt. This cat is one lucky princess.
Thanks for the story, Patty! I love the great lengths the caregivers go to to meet all of the needs of their wards.
And I love that we're raising money to help the awesome Barn Cat and Backyard Buddy program!
We've got a big matching donation challenge happening now, and all we donate will be matched by our Awesome Anonymous Donor until we reach the $5000 cap. If you were planning on giving during our campaign, this really good time to give --- it's a wonderful program to support AND your dollars are being matched, so they'll go twice as far!
You can learn more about the program HERE in this morning's post.
$500 of our $5000 match has been met - yes, it's going kind of slow this morning. If you would like to help us take a few steps closer to our goal today, please visit our FUNdraising page by visiting HERE.
Thank you so much for listening to my many pleas! And thank you for helping this special population of cats out!
