Cat-In-The-Box
These two have been having a great time today. I turned the scratcher cube on its side this morning making a nice little hidey-hole for the kittens.
They've been climbing inside the cube and popping up like a jack-in-the-box to startle each other, the big cats, and us humans, too.
Poe was lurking inside and I said "I know you're in there" as I passed the cube on my way to grab to grab a stack of mail from the entry table. He didn't pop out then, but as I returned, he jumped up and let out a tiny, two-syllable squeak, which sounded like a weak attempt to yell "surprise!"
I scooped him up, kissed his head, then dropped him back into the cube.
Nice try, Poe.

That sounds adorable! They must be so pleased when they DO startle someone!

Beware the house panther's mighty roar!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Feerce creatures, those house panthers.
DeleteI love the way you keep the environment fresh and interesting for all the kitties, and I'm sure they appreciate it, too.
ReplyDeleteWe call this "Tiger in the Jungle" attack. Love the tiny "ack, ack" kittens make when trying to sound fierce.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Poe could have been meowing "Eek Boo!"
ReplyDeleteLove those two!
Marigold's expression in pic 3! :)
