Out and About (Then Under the Couch)
I'm sorry I'm a little late with the post this morning. Yesterday was my client's big party, and it's a doozy. I left the house at 5:00 AM with a vanload of 2.725 roses (and a bunch of other flowers, too) and didn't return home until 8:30 last night. I am dragging my tail and moving pretty slow. Some of you had mentioned wanting to see a few pics of he event. If you're interested, I put a couple on my personal Instagram feed HERE.
After everyone had breakfast this morning, I scooped up Marigold and Poe and brought them into the living room, where Wylla was having a bath in a BRAND NEW KITTEN BASKET. YES, I found one, actually two, and they arrived in yesterday's mail.
Wylla couldn't contain her enthusiasm and made her move towards the kittens, Poe got ruffled by her advances, ears went back, and he got puffy and growled. Wylla stepped back and gave them some space. They sniffed around a little and then decided that under the couch was a safer place to be, and that is where they spent the next 30 minutes.
Wylla tried hard to fish them out but they were too far back for her paws to reach them, so she sat back and waited. Finally, they reappeared and made their way to the kitten basket.
It's good to have them out in our world. Now that they've spent a little time out in it, I think they're happy to be here.

What a good cat Wylla is... but she learned from the Mistress Bean.
ReplyDeleteI have one of those "YOWW" catnip bananas that has to be at least 10 years old. It's rotten.. dirty.. decrepit.. but caught my 20 year old cat rubbing her head on it last night. The other two younger cats love it as well, and it usually gets picked out of the toy pile in the corner and brought to the middle of the room. I'm going to try to find a new one today in honor of the cleaner one in your picture. :)
You could refill it with fresh catnip and they will go bananas (no pun intended) over it again. It's gotta be pretty stale after 10 years!
DeleteOh noes! Has Wylla turned into a crazy cat lady like the rest of us?
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful flowers (via the link).
ReplyDeleteAlways love the kitten-in-a-basket pics. The last one with Wylla tipping it for a better look is too much - lol!
I love her trying to fish Poe out of the basket. "I'll get you, silly kitten!"
ReplyDeleteThe last photo just screams "come here little boy, I want to give you a baaath!"
ReplyDelete"I shall leeck you."
DeleteIt's a good thing I'm home alone because that was a loud (and totally sincere) snort among many many giggles.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finding baskets! And thanks for sharing more kitty adventures with us.
It must be such a joy for you to experience all these kitties' interactions. It definitely is for me.
ReplyDeleteYour roses were stunning!
ReplyDeleteIn that last pic of Wylla, it looks like she's leaning into the basket to tickle under Poe's little chin while saying, "coochy, coochy, coo"!
Always a grand day when kittens and baskets collide. Love how Wylla tips the basket to get a better peek at Poe.
ReplyDeleteLove kittens, and Wylla, and roses! Makes for a good day!
ReplyDeleteoh Wylla ;)
ReplyDeleteand on another note...LOVE your personal Instagram account. Beautiful pics, and I recall the Europe trip was over the moon cool!

Can't blame Wylla for trying to fish those kittens out! It must be hard to wait two whole weeks to play with a new batch.
ReplyDeleteAll those roses remind me of Valentine's Day, and I work at a flower shop...ugh!
ReplyDeleteWylla's eagerness cracks me up.
ReplyDeletePlease let us know when you are able to post more pictures of your table-scapes from the holiday party. Would love to see them!
ReplyDeleteFresh kitten basket! Does this one has a bit of orange in it? It looks nice! And these two little muffins get to break it in. :)
ReplyDeleteMarigold looks a lot like baby Baxter Lamm!
