SURPRISE! Guess what we got yesterday afternoon? A PAIR OF ADORABLE KITTENS!
Please ay hello to Mr. Sidney Fishkin.
Have you fallen in love yet? I know. Me too. It really just takes one glance at this wee heartbreaker, doesn't it?
Sid is one-half of the Fishkin Twins, and you'll meet his brother tomorrow.
The boys both have upper respiratory infections so there are some sniffly noses, runny eyes, occasional sneezes, and congestion. They have an ointment for their eyes and an antibiotic they're taking and just overnight I can see the medicines are working. They are definitely breathing better today and their energy level is up. It won't be too long at all before they are 100% and running full-speed!
Even though they're feeling a little low, you can see they are little loves. Both boys are social and sweet and very outgoing. They make the best little squeaks and their purrs are huge. I can hardly wait for them to get better, get out of quarantine, and meet Charlene and Wylla! DOUBLE DATES!
Welcome, Sidney Fishkin. We are very glad you're here!!

ReplyDeleteQuestion: if you have a cat you take out on a leash or let in your back yard, do you have to keep them current with a flea treatment as well as other cats in the house? My daughter wants to leash train our newest feline, but I don't want him getting fleas or bringing fleas inside to the other three...
Personally, I would absolutely treat the cat going outside. As for the others, even when treated, indoor-outdoor pets can introduce fleas to indoor-only pets, so there is some risk.
ReplyDeleteA little black guy - just like us!!! SO CUTE!!! I'm sure they'll heal right up under your care. :) ---Clovis and Rupert Ashby
ReplyDeleteI'm new to the world of kittens could someone answere some of my questions? 1:is catnip completely harmless? I just think it's a little bit wierd the way they react to it and wanted to make sure. 2: I'm a foster mom just about to take on my second litter of kittens, An and we have a dog with a very sensitive feet she chases adult cats but it sort of shy around the little ones because they touch your feet and she doesn't like that does anyone have any solutions that could help these two live in peace??
ReplyDeleteCatnip is safe. If the kittens are causing stress for your dog, maybe separate them. We allow our kittens to spend time with our permanent resident cats because it's a positive experience for all. If it was anything less than that, I wouldn't allow them to mingle.
DeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
ReplyDeleteAwww, how adorable! Hope they feel better soon!
