The boys were a little shy around the girls during the first couple of days of mingling. They were comfortable enough to share the same room as Wylla and Charlene but preferred not getting TOO close to them. Sometimes a big, floofy tail would capture their attention and lure the little ones closer, but, mostly they just kept their distance. The girls were patient and just let the boys be.
Finally, a few days ago we there was a bit of a breakthrough, and for the first time, we witnessed the little cats letting the big cats groom them.
It was sweet watching them give in and let the girls love on them!
"Come here, little friend. Come closer to me. "
"HEY! What's that I see? Is that a shaved belly??"
Yes, Wylla. It is. I'm sorry to say, but it's time to wrap up this Fishkin chapter.
"But... but they just got here!" says Bean.
NNOOOOOOOOO! It can not be time to end the Fishkin Chapter. We haven't had enough Beanie and The Boys time. Haven't had enough girl baths. Haven't had enough panthers rampaging through the house to kill a wand toy.....no.

ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly, dear Bean. But their mommies and daddies are waiting for them, and that's a happy thing.
Oh, they still look so little! They can't be 2 pounds yet :-(
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww. I will be sad to see these two go. But glad they did have some good moments with the girls, first. And of course a wonderful time with you all.
ReplyDeleteI hope they get to go home together.
ReplyDeleteThe bliss of bathing! Too bad we won't see much more of it. :( They've grown so quickly!
ReplyDeleteI love that transition from "aren't you gonna do anything about this??" to "oh yeah Wylla, right there...."
ReplyDeleteIt does indeed feel too soon for the boys to leave... I'm glad the Fishkin twins gave in to some foster-mothering from Bean and Wylla!
ReplyDeleteBean and Wylla are such dears. Goodbye Fishkins! I will really miss the little loves.
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness, those grooming photos!! Everyone needs some mama love.
ReplyDeleteSo cute...and do you have a secret girl kitten there? Or just a shaved belly for some other reason?
ReplyDeleteThey shave the bellies so they can give them a spay/neuter tattoo.
DeleteThe little skinny tailio in pic 2! Awwn.
