All is Quiet!
Though the girls enjoyed spending this last week with dear Hurley, I think they're happy to have a quiet home once again.
Things have been a little crazy around here lately.
Two weekends ago we decided to clean the rug upstairs. This is the space where the girls spend a big part of their time, so the project was disruptive. All the furniture got moved around, all linens, pillows, carpets and cat beds got cleaned, we got rid of lots of stuff. The project took four days and during that time, the girls were so restless.
We got done with the big cleaning just in time for the arrival of some houseguests, which always alters their schedule a bit.
Then Hurley had the whole run of the house and suddenly they were sharing their favorite napping spots, the cat tower, and absolutely everything else with him.
Generally, the girls can roll with most anything, all of this tested their limits and I could sense they were ready for to be done with the disruptions and get back to normal. They do like their regular routine.
Tomorrow I'll begin sharing the Hudleston adoption tails and you'll find out about their "happily ever afters." They found some great homes and their bright futures have begun!
I'm taking a trip in a couple of weeks and there's not time enough to get a litter in and out the door before I go, so we'll have to wait until I get home to bring in the next batch of babies. The Huddlestons are gong to be a tough act to follow!
THOSE HUDDLESTONS. Gosh, what a special set.

We forget that kittens can be stressful to The Ladies. The real question is - how did you get the Huddleston's to sit still and look at you to take the pictures?
ReplyDeleteI hypnotize them!
DeleteEnjoy the quiet, Bean and Wylla! Even expert kitten wranglers need a break from time to time.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to hear about their families!
ReplyDeleteWhat fantastic family portraits!!
ReplyDeleteThey were a very special set, definitely.
While everyone likes having house guests, it's always nice to have the house back so you can get back to the routine of every day living. Wylla and Charlene are no different than us in that respect. I'm sure when you get back from your trip, the ladies will be happy to open up their home to the next litter of itty-bitties needing tutelage under their caring paws.
ReplyDeletethose sweet sweet eyes.... love!
