Happy Thanksgiving, Dear Ones
Last Thanksgiving Day, the kittens that belong to these paws, Marigold and Poe Starling, met their future fathers, David and Shawn, at our Holiday Feast.
David and Shawn will be joining us this year, along with a houseful of friends and family to share another meal. We're looking forward it and are scurrying around today to get everything prepared for the event. There's shopping to do, pies to bake, cleaning, crafting -- the list goes on and on!
And while we're checking things off of the list, in the back of my mind, I'm thinking about all that we have to be thankful for this Season.
You all are at the top this list. Thank you for being patient and supportive while we've been wading through all that happened this year. Your kindness and love helped us tremendously. We appreciate you so much.
Have a lovely Thanksgiving, dear ones. We hope you're spending tomorrow with a table full of good food and love. We hope you're happy, healthy, and feeling peace. We wish the same for your critters and loved ones, too.
Much, much love,
Laurie, Craig, Charlene Butterbean and Wylla.

Every year I put your first Paw Turkey up on my office door. Now I will add these to!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day, the friends, the cats and the food.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too! It sounds like you have all that’s needed—good company and good food in a loving household. Beleve me, you are all on my list of things for which I’m grateful. I’m glad you are in my life because of what you do, but mainly because your posts and pics brighten my days. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are so sweet I could GOBBLE them up!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
I am thankful for you, for everything that you do. For having such a compassionate and open heart. Your posts are always a very bright spot in this very dark world and when you share your heartache I am always going to be here sharing it with you, and sending love and prayers. You are my Hero. Have a most wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Laurie and Craig!

ReplyDeletePutting the kittens to work... Haha.
OK, here's this: I sincerely hope that you, once the 1-year quarantine is over, will continue fostering kittens... F I can't think that it would feel good to call it quits because of such a horrible end, you know? After these wonderful years, with a parade of kittens passing through your lives, then it ends with a trauma. Three kittens died. I really believe this! And I'm pretty smart!—at least in emotional smarts. ;) Now, I don't want to butt in or anything (except I do). But will you promise me that you’ll at least talk to friends and husband about it, about this angle, and see what they think? (Because I’m right. I am! Or at least I think so. :))
Because it IS a big decision—I don’t have to tell you that… Considering how big this has been in your life. Not 'just' the fostering itself, but running the blog too. (I’m sure hen you started it, you surely thought it would become this big… When the purritos were posted on cuteoverload—R.I.P., sniff—that must have been when it exploded, no! That’s how I came.
Then there's the inspiration for others to foster! I wonder how many readers have started fostering or rescuing because of you… Tons? And the fundraising! Again, surely when you first did it, you thought
that it after a few years would reach the (bonkers) size it did last year… (Kudos to each year setting the goal silly high—it's as if you know sports psychology! Because I’m betting Bolt never set 'realistic' goals, to become, what, the fastest runner in Jamaica. Or his school! Also, there’s the smiles you have brought Portlanders when they get a gander of Bean on that shelter van… (If she only knew! Bean FTW. Maybe Wylla will be on the van too one day. If there’s no room, they could do it on the roof, like the taxi ads! For TV shows and gentlemen’s clubs.)
Lastly, I wish your half-peeps, half-kittehs, a Happy Tofurkey Day! Myself, I will enjoying a Turducken. (J/k, I’m Swedish so I don’t care. Also, I’m a cat sitter so it’s a top, busy ($) day for me so I will be busy all day!) Xo /Eva
It would be awesome if Poe and Marigold made paw turkeys now that they're all grown up. I'd love to see how much larger the turkeys are this year compared to last year. Thanks for sharing their contributions from last year. The best turkeys this holiday are, IMHO, always paw turkeys.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving dear Laurie and family!
ReplyDeleteThank you for adding joy and cuteness to our lives. Sending lots of love to you and your readers.
I'm grateful for everything that you, Craig, Bean and Willa have done for the kittens over the years. You've fostered so many, you've worked so hard to benefit even those you didn't foster by improving the facilities at the shelter, and by inspiring others to do whatever they could to help kittens around the country and the world. You're an inspiration, and I'm so glad I stumbled upon you and the Itty Bitty Kitties. You've made my life better, and the kittens have gotten me through some rough times, emotionally, with their antics. Thank you so much, Laurie.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving and thank you for all the wonderful posts and wonderful kittens you have prepared for life.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving from Cleo, Posey, Erin & Dan!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on assembling a public Flickr gallery just in case anyone would like to see what these silly Framboise girls have been up to.
All our best, and love to Bean & Wylla
